The bulk of the attacks came from Israel.
Nonetheless, do you think taking out a ballistic-missile factory is a bad thing?
The bulk of the attacks came from Israel.
What’s next is the million dollar question. Iran is a deeply divided country and there will be chaos filling in that power vacuum. History shows that it’s easy to remove a tyrant from power. What’s hard is whatever comes next and I’m concerned that neither Trump nor the Israelis have thought through what’s next.Valerie wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:01 amAnyone with a heart is happy for the Iranians right now- it’s been a long 47 years for them and to see them so elated is more than heartwarming. Listening to many interviewed these past couple of days thought they’d never see this in their lifetime.Szdfan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 11:49 pmThis sounds similar to the justifications for invading Iraq. After Trump’s repeated claims that the US wasn’t going to start any more foreign wars, it’s interesting that we’re going back to the Neo-Cons.Valerie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 11:35 pm
None of these intelligence that are being interviewed are implying this OJ. They are giving the 47 year history here of a wicked regime of an oppressed people and pointing out how many of our own have been killed. The information being shared these past couple days is astounding ,
Chanting Death to America and Death to Israel conveys a leadership in Iran with plans.
It’s scary though. What next? Prophetically speaking we get closer every day. It is so important they get the right leadership now. They’ve been through horrid decades like none of us can relate to.
Why is it the responsibility of either?Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:22 am What’s next is the million dollar question. I actually liked his voice. But temps right, the influence back then among these rockers was not good- parents should have been more careful- I mean these were all mixed in the drug & sexual revolution-Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:15 amI like “Lay Lady Lay.” I like to pair it with Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make It Through the Night” and Johnny Cash’s version of “If I Were A Carpenter.”
I believe Dylan was awarded the Prize for his body of lyrics. Per the Committee, they gave him the award for “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” I think that’s arguable. I tell my students that song lyrics are poetry as a way to get them interested. They hate poetry (because they don’t understand it) but love music. Song lyrics and poetry share many of the same principles.
Now Dylan’s singing? That’s an entirely different issue, but they didn’t give him a Nobel Prize for that. Joan Baez singing Dylan songs is much more pleasant than Dylan singing Dylan songs.
It wasn’t just one tyrant though, there were 40 so far in the evil regime - what I heard tonight are there are talks of what next.Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:22 amWhat’s next is the million dollar question. Regardless of whether Israel has made the bulk of the attacks, the US is in fact launching strikes into Iran and therefore does share responsibility for the chaos there. Whether or not I think a target is morally acceptable or not has no bearing on that responsibility.
Because when you help create a power vacuum through force, you bear some responsibility for what follows.JohnH wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:23 amWhy is it the responsibility of either?Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:22 am What’s next is the million dollar question. Everything changes everything.
They chant “Death to America, Death to Israel” even just recently- there’s a lot to gain by removing this regime at the same time we must be mindful another Islamic regime would feel the same way even if not evil to their own country.JohnH wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:23 amWhy is it the responsibility of either?Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:22 am What’s next is the million dollar question. His father died 46 years ago. Any surprises and potstirring that might happen are long overdue.temporal1 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:17 ami know nothing of the son.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2026 4:02 pmI have not fact checked this, but a German podcast I listened to claimed that Reza Pahlavi has never renounced any of his father's actions. Anything the US does without broad support from the Iranian people (and perhaps even with that support) is going to plant the seeds of future conflict.
however, heirs can be surprising. probably unlikely to stir pots while his father lived, there can be hope for a new day.
the world is watching.
