Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.

I'm not sure if a list of grievances is helpful here. I prefer to avoid interaction with you most of the time.Josh wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 9:21 amWhat, exactly, do you mean by “red flags” here? Vague statements like this are inflammatory.

One can always private message. Often that is best to sort things out.

Re: Can we make MN less hostile?
Could we establish clear criteria for what we mean by "hostility" and "toxic"?
Would the moderators be willing to remove posts that meet those criteria, as on many other social media platforms? Or is there some other way to intervene? Without that, I don't think we can make MN less hostile.
For instance, I think "here's what's wrong with you" and promoting negative stereotypes about other people who are here is clearly toxic. If someone expresses a feeling, telling that person that their feelings don't matter is clearly toxic. Would anyone disagree with that?

Re: Can we make MN less hostile?
I'm not addressing this to anyone in particular, but sometimes private messages are useless because someone actually gets something out of being hostile - they are playing to an audience.

I'm not trying to be inflammatory, I just don't think that posting all the things I don't like about Josh is helpful.
