(i believe) numerous medications are regularly prescribed for “off-label” purposes.
one example, birth control pills are prescribed for various complaints.
bc pills are distributed to teens+children like candy.

I bought ivermectin yesterday, but of course it's the kind for horses. The cashier at the store told me she is selling a lot of it for covid people.
I'm really nervous about giving it to my husband! I am giving him lots of supplements. He is on two transplant medications so I looked up the warnings of interactions for his transplant medications. Interestingly enough, vaccines are on the list of interactions with his transplant medications! Including the covid-19 vaccine!
Is there a reason you don't want to get a (human?) prescription from a doctor? We have no problems getting it legitimately around here.
1. Rx for humans?
2. i live in downstate Illinois (aka, the state of DNC Chicago).
3. i messaged my GP 2 weeks ago, no reply. it’s an efficient msg system with quick replies, 24-48 hrs. not this time.
4. i ordered the human type online, a site promising physician prescriptions and oversight.
https://www.pushhealth.com/
5. i’ve received email contact from them, no physician contact. (i presume i’m “in line” for contact.) BUT, Illinois may have measures to intercede, to not allow purchase. I DON’T KNOW.
i’m not recommending the link i added above. i know nothing about them. I HOPE IT’S NOT FRAUD.
i’m not recommending Ivermectin, i can’t, i have no medical background OR experience with it.
i want to have Ivermectin on hand, in the event i contract COVID.
i’ve read enough to believe it’s unlikely to harm me, and, it might relieve symptoms, and/or shorten the illness, hopefully, without hospitalization. i am bothered that i might be hospitalized yet not receive meds that might help, like Ivermectin.
i told my adult daughter, i’m not interested in taking it today, BUT, if i were sick enough, i might be very happy to take it.
i’m interpretting my doctor’s silence as:
1) “i can’t speak on this.” and,
2) because my doctors have NEVER been shy to advise me against bad ideas, i take her silence to mean, “it won’t hurt you.”
Valerie lives in Ohio.
Next: My weird Ivermectin journey:
After a few days, i received an email saying my RX request was approved, the order was sent to a local national chain pharmacy i requested, they would contact me.
i believe i received a phone call the next morning. It was a local pharmacist.
He told me they are not filling this RX, because it’s not FDA approved for COVID purposes. He was helpful.
He agreed that doctors have leeway to prescribe for off-label use, i told him i believe this is an important privilege for doctors to have. He told me they will transfer the RX to another pharmacy, if i find one willing to fill it.
i told him about my GP’s silence, that this is the first time she’s been silent. That i’m thinking her silence means, IVM won’t hurt me, but she’s not free to discuss it. He agreed IVM will not hurt me. i told him, this is Illinois, i presume pharmacies will not fill this RX. He said he could not say.
i have not called another local pharmacy, i’m looking into HONEYBEE PHARMACY, an online pharmacy listed on the PushHealth Site.
they are located in California. The website appears legitimate to me. (What do i know?!)
https://honeybeehealth.com/online-pharmacy
i guess my next step will be to call my local pharmacy, ask if they are familiar with Honeybee, and if they would transfer the RX?
i’m not at ease with all this, yet. not wanting to stumble into fraud, spam, etc.
it looks like the cost of 1 RX will be about $65. i don’t know dosage, number of tablets, recommended treatment, etc.
i presume that will accompany the RX.
thankfully, i’m not attempting to navigate this while sick!
i’m trying to plan ahead+prepare to avoid as many problems possible. hopefully, i’ll have it and never need to use it.
