I've thought this as well. The rioters get much "credit", or whatever, because they are destroying "their own neighborhoods". Is that even true? Looks to me like they are destroying commercial districts, and I bet the owners are not burning and looting their own businesses, and I doubt anyone is burning and looting their own homes.
There is a huge gap from burning ones neighborhood and burning ones own property.

You keep saying, "It's horrible that an innocent black man was killed but destroying property has to stop.

Try saying, "It's horrible that property is being destroyed, but killing innocent black men has to stop."

You're prioritizing the wrong part.
I get the impression that people are actually prioritizing the word black over anything else and that is wrong too. It would be correct and biblical if it said, "all men"

Racism is addressed in the bible and of course in a non-resistive and non-reactionary way and it is the fact that Christ gave His life for ALL MEN. When we start segregating and having to say black and white; it, to me, is the same root that makes people stop and think people are different because of skin color and therefore plants seeds to the way of racism.

Look through history, it is a subtle way to eventually kill Jews or abort babies legally because we classify them as something else - they are all human just like everybody else and Christ died for them all.

Wade, maybe innocent black men is being 'prioritized' because there is a very low chance this would have happened to an innocent white man. It happens far too often these days. Those of us who are white can't begin to comprehend what it is like for black people - we live with white privilege so while it looks like it says black is being prioritized over white, it's more that life/lives is being prioritized over property. And I am not condoning the violence or rioting or destroying of property when I say this, I'm just saying we often get outraged about the violence but forget about the death when these tragedies occur. Yes all lives matter but black lives matter as much as white lives and that is what this is trying to emphasize.

I agree, I just think we need to be careful to apply Christs teaching of being non-resistant which I believe includes not being reactionary, as I believe some of these things fuel the fire of racism and violence. If we active in loving all men that speaks louder in my opinion and experience and how I understand the scriptures.

I don't know what it is like to be black but I do know what it is like to come from a small town with no grade 10-12 high school, so having to bus a ways away from home for school. And then having teachings lean in over you with a disgusted face and tell you that they don't expect anything good from me or any kids from up the valley, and that all I would ever be was a low class sawmill worker and didn't expect me to ever be able to amount to anything worthwhile.

I agree with this, I guess I am just emphasizing that we have failed to treat our black and brown brethren like we would our white ones and the church has not been a leader in trying to rectify this. It's not always blatant but it is still there. And when I hear black men say they can't sit in their car in front of their house/apt listening to the end of a song without police coming up to them questioning their presence, or can't walk in their own neighborhood without their children because someone may become suspicious and/or attacked and so forth I guess that is why the black part was emphasized. We need to treat all people alike but have to recognize we have failed to do this have failed to support those that have been mistreated and the church has got to begin to start taking the lead. And I'm not saying everyone in the church has been negligent but overall the church in general whatever flavor has been negligent.

Very sad... I haven't seen this and do struggle to relate. My wife was always picked on in public school too and maybe that is why she relates so well with anyone who isn't white - her ability to treat people the same no matter what a person's color or country of origin has been a blessing and one reason racism so far gone to what I see.

Szdfan wrote:Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t you said in the past that we need the 2nd Amendment in order for the government to be afraid of an armed citizenry?
I said the reason for the 2nd Amendment is to fight government tyranny. I see no reason to remove it, but if it needs to be removed, it needs to be done through a constitutional amendment, not presidential, judicial, or congressional action.
Szdfan wrote:What does it mean for the government to be afraid of the populous? In what ways does the populous make the government afraid?
By voting and populous pressure, this would remind the elected that they work for the elected and will not continue to work for the elected if they do not represent their constituents more times then not.
Bootstrap wrote:There are always people falsely characterizing peaceful protests as dangerous, violent extremists. There are always violent extremists posing as peaceful protesters.
It is not what they are posing as, it is if there is violence and destruction of private property. This means the peaceful may need to police their own. MLK did this. Some of the recent protesters have done this.

Some interesting facts and a differing perspective. Some cussing in it, but not too bad.

"You said black lives matter. Why don't you choke me? I'm black. Look what you did to my store. Look!" she continued. "Look at the things you done! We've been here all night cleaning up!"

"Tell me black lives matter? You lied — you wanted to loot this store. You needed money — get a job like I do!" she went on to say. "Stop stealing. This is the neighborhood — we trying to build it up and you tearing it down."

Candace quotes someone and then says:

"The black community is unique in that it is the only community that caters to the bottom denominator of society. They are unique that they are the only people that fight and scream and demand justice for the people in our community that are up to no good. You would be hard pressed to find a Jewish person who did five stints in prison, and Jewish people champion and demand justice for you. You would be hard pressed to find this in White America or in Latino America."

Candace Owens is wrong on that. The liberal media and liberal Democrat politicians champion the bottom denominator of society as well, as long as it fits their narrative and can be used against conservatives, Republicans and against this current president.
