That is reasonable and generally not practical for any other child then your own and I suspect you’d do what you could for others.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2026 9:37 pm
I would endeavour to get the child help, in a context where the sin can be corrected rather than minimized. There would be no way that child could attend that school until there was assurance that the problem would not recur. If that assurance could not be achieved, maybe never. Independent schooling is a possibility.

I think JM is on the right track regardless of who the perpetrator is. Acknowledgment, Consequences, Forgiveness and Recovery.Soloist wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2026 4:53 amThat is reasonable and generally not practical for any other child then your own and I suspect you’d do what you could for others.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2026 9:37 pm

Ultimately, it is the parents responsibility. I do know, however, people who are very good at homeschooling. Depending on severity, it might be possible to bring a minor student offender back under special conditions. He might have an "escort" to teach him proper boundaries. There is a whole spectrum of "offenses" and what you do may vary.Soloist wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2026 4:53 amThat is reasonable and generally not practical for any other child then your own and I suspect you’d do what you could for others.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2026 9:37 pm

Someone else is calling for further investigation into how this was handled by BMA.
Up to this point, BMA has basically said, "We investigated ourselves and we found nothing wrong."

Perhaps you should appoint an independent investigator to investigate yourself to find out if you've ever committed any crimes.I Timothy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2026 5:54 am https://bmatransparency.com/

Well, that sarcastic comment surely wins the debate of facts.

I fully agree with the last part of the statement. An audit/investigation by an independent organization is urgently needed. I hope the BMA is receptive to this initiative, especially considering that money won't be an issue, as donors have already offered to fund it.I Timothy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2026 5:54 am https://bmatransparency.com/

"A trustworthy, experienced organization is needed for the investigation. Based on discussions with legal counsel who have experience in similar situations, Guidepost Solutions is a recommended option. They are respected and have extensive experience with these kinds of situations. We are not proposing GRACE because of concerns some BMA leaders have expressed based on past experience.
There are donors who have offered to contribute significantly to the cost if financing is a barrier to the investigation."

Does anyone know if there will be an investigation or is this now stale news and everything is fine?

Generally speaking, people and organisations don't hire a hostile outside investigator to go find bad things about themselves.flyingnorm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2026 11:28 pm Does anyone know if there will be an investigation or is this now stale news and everything is fine?

What do Christians do when there are allegations of kids being mistreated? Its not a rhetorical question. Its a request for reasonable dialogue.JohnH wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2026 9:57 amGenerally speaking, people and organisations don't hire a hostile outside investigator to go find bad things about themselves.flyingnorm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2026 11:28 pm Does anyone know if there will be an investigation or is this now stale news and everything is fine?
