It's a wild ride, isn't it!
Pilgrim has been doing this since 2015.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

Sunday school at 10 AM, main service around 10:35. There is also a service tonight at 7 PM.

I loved our pastors message this morning from Galatians 4. He talked about what it means to him to be a pastor. He took Alistair Begg’s place after his 42 years of being pastor there. We are finding that we love his heart.

one sad thing (for me) is, the two closest churches dropped Mennonite from their names.
i don’t know why.
Some churches that lean more evangelical have done so to avoid being associated with the ultra-liberal Mennonite groups.
possibly. i expect the MCUSA church on the nearby state college campus is ultra-liberal. from political flags+banners displayed. a large Chicago satellite campus. It seems too far away to be a factor here. Maybe not.

don’t confuse forum presence with being alert and functioning. sleep is irregular, no time is off-limits. sorry to say.
i miss the truly late night MD crowd. good folks in the wee hours.

If 10:30 and 10:35 are too much earlier than 11, there's adult basketball at 6:30pm Fridays. 8-)
I'm not a morning person either, but somehow I can find my way there by 7:45 or 8:30ish depending on which Sunday it is. Coffee helps.
Look how normal you are! Revisit in 30 years.

Maybe you should ask them. The answers might surprise you.
i used to think about asking.
It was all over before i knew anything about it.

i appreciate the suggestions. i hadn’t been thinking about it. i will think about it and ask some questions.
esp now that daylight is longer. that helps a lot.

Shocker: (for me)

P.8:

This has been going on for years. It’s reality, and a puzzle. ..

.. i suspect medications, i’ve asked doctors, nothing. (They lack imagination)-i don’t tell them.
i used to be a morning person, our children hated it. Productive. Maybe an over achiever. i enjoyed it. ..

Sometime after February, my blood sugar tests have been very high (200+) .. i’ve not had a period like this since my 2007 diagnosis.
This includes adding stair-climbing as often as i can. i’ve been alarmed. i had some lab work, results were high, as i expected; my doctor’s PA messaged right away, “what’s going on?!” No appointment scheduled until August.

She changed my -MEDICATION-
uhhh. blood sugars droppng right away, still high for me, but much better ..

but .. the morning sluggishness impairment (that lasts until 3pm) .. seems lifted. what?!!

i don’t feel drugged. it doesn’t feel like caffeine. no jitters. it feels normal, as i recall normal. :)
will it last? i hope so.

bizarre. in a good way. a great way. i-hope-it-lasts. :)

i guess i got their attention about the meds.

I “used to be” a fan. I was sent this by someone who gets demonically attacked in stronger ways than the average Christian- I’ve known of this by others- it’s difficult for them to convey it in such a way that it doesn’t make them seem they’re imagining things but having been close to somebody these I know I can trust their experiences are real.
