He's one of those people who seems to have an appreciation for Christianity and since the first assassination attempt, does seem to believe in God, but has also said he certainly doesn't believe he's heaven-bound and doesn't seem to consider himself the same thing as what Christians are.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 11:55 amYes, that, is in fact the latest version, although in the past he has made such claims.JohnH wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 11:48 amHe has not claimed to be Christian at all.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 11:43 am

More honest than a lot of other Presidents who made a big show out of being a Methodist or whatever.

Hmmm? Huh? Far-right MAGA and/or Neo-con America is the one starting and prosecuting a war... another human induced tragedy that as past history shows, forces people to run for their lives... ie emigrate, etc. And if or when this happens it will be ALL the fault and responsibility of an American Republican far right president, administration and party who are commanding the armed forces which are DOING the physical actions that force people to flee somewhere...
Pinning this one on an "agenda of the progressive-left" makes no sense to me or with reality...

A Confessing Church would acknowledge the inescapable realities of sin and injustice in every human institution, including every political party. It would wholeheartedly reject any suggestion that one party or movement is the party of God. Paul D Miller

The agenda of the progressive left is to have massive migrations of people around the globe, including huge movements into western countries with generous welfare states (but also big movements between third world countries as well). Why they do this is left as an exercise to the reader.Jazman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 1:13 pmHmmm? Huh? He can call it what he wants. I am using precise language intentionally. Congress has not declared war, so every action since 1942 has not been a war. It does not mean there was no loss or violence. It means Congress has not declared war, as per the Constitution.Ernie wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 8:30 amFrom Trump last night...Robert wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 7:59 am I listened to the President's speech last night. Sounds like the conflict with Iran will wrap up soon. I see little indications this will be a long protracted conflict. I am intentionally not calling this a war because it has not been declared a war. Wording is important. I am trying to be truthful and precise, not sensational or exaggerate. In all honesty, this is not that large of a conflict if we look over the past 20-30 years of presidential military actions. Even Vietnam was never a declared war, but a military action. The last time the Congress declared war was WW2.March 10Never in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses in a matter of weeks.March 12President Trump said, "I think the war is very complete, pretty much."Reporter: You just said it is a little excursion, and you said it is a war. So which one is it?
President Trump: Well, it's both. It's an excursion that will keep us out of a war, and the war is going to be — for them it's a war, for us it turned out to be easier than we thought.
The Vietnam "War" was not a war, but a military action that caused a lot of death and violence. Again, just using precise language.
The word war can dictate a formal action declared by Congress and can be used as slang to define a military action. I was trying to move away from the slang to clarify a little better. If it does not help you, I apologize, but it helps me look at things a little different and more clear.

I am sorry but they are not far right(conservative) enough for me. I want them to conserve more of our rights and money.

Re: US Attacks Iran 2026
Best way to do that would be to shrink the military by 50%, and stop fighting/starting these warsadventures all over the globe.
That would save bundles.

Who is this progressive left that is forcing mass migrations of people around the globe? Did they start, perpetrate the civil war in Syria? Did they instigate, start, prolong the conflicts in Haiti, the Middle East, Africa, South or Central America?JohnH wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 1:40 pmThe agenda of the progressive left is to have massive migrations of people around the globe, including huge movements into western countries with generous welfare states (but also big movements between third world countries as well). I'm baffled or maybe feeling gaslit? ... and a whiff of great replacement conspiracy theory? I'm not sure why in this thread/topic this keeps coming up.
Do you believe a progressive left agenda/conspiracy started the current war with Iran so that there will be a mass migration of Iranians and/or other Middle Eastern people's to the 'West'?

I get your point. If I understand it correctly, you are looking at it from a legislative branch point of view.Robert wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 7:46 pmHe can call it what he wants. I'm looking at it from a historical and an executive branch point of view. The executive branch has renamed a department to Department of War, and it is doing the sorts of things that people do in wars and what Departments of War have done. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.
