You're calling the VP and the Congress "illegitimate government"? :o
It’s interesting how the only legitimate elections are the ones that Republicans win. Somehow, mysteriously, all those allegations of fraud disappeared when Trump won in 2024. It’s as if the rigged, fraud-filled system just stopped so that Trump could win. Huh.

My hunch is that whenever Democrats win again, we’ll hear all kinds of fraud allegations, but when Republicans do, then…nothing. Funny how that works.
If the was an election that Biden really won, the American people were very blind to his condition and cannot be trusted to see clearly to vote, but we will never believe he won- Covid helped the election results, proven by the fact after trying relentlessly to take Trump down, he won again, even every swing state.

I’ve been voting 50 years, the 2020 election was first time I knew in my heart of hearts fraudulent voting tipped the scale. Oh I realize democrats never commit fraud, the blue states prove how honest they are. I know it can happen on both sides, Trump at least fairly one this time and that is why we want voter id & in person voting, unlike those who depend on cheating.
You’re saying the system was too corrupt to trust when Biden won, but trustworthy when Trump won, without explaining what actually changed.

That sounds less like a problem with fraud and more like a problem with accepting outcomes you don’t agree with.

We do need to be balanced in our distrust of the government.

Covid made it “very convenient” for mail in ballots which the numbers always were highly suspect. I can’t believe people actually voted in number for Biden when he was already showing sign of struggling. And indeed it turned out to be true.
So either the election had a lot of fraud tipping the numbers
OR
People cannot recognize a candidate who shouldn’t have run.

Trump won on both before and after the “Covid” election.
Think what you want.
As I said, I’ve always been a Republican and always accepted loss until the 2020 so no, I’ve never been one to always claim Democrats won by fraudulent voting.
Common sense tells you if a party is afraid to require voter ID, there’s a less than honest reason for that.

Public opinion on Biden's capability was about +20 going into the election, and about even a year later. Much of the decline, or at least public perception of it, was after he took office.

But the country was, and still is, so divided that if Bernie Lomax had run against Trump he would have got at least a third of the vote.

Wife: this has already gone well into politics, but it would be kind of hard to know solely based off of the 2024 results, since Biden was replaced with his female vice president on the ballot right before the election, which upset a lot of people.

We do need to be balanced in our distrust of the government.
I think healthy distrust is fine, but then there needs to be evidence to support it, otherwise it’s just suspicion.

I can believe the government is lying about keeping aliens at Area 51 in Nevada, but if I don’t have evidence, that suspicion doesn’t carry much weight.

Roger Williams was rebaptized as an adult by an Anabaptist. Out of this stream, flows the entire principal of the separation of church and state currently embraced by the USA culture. He left a legacy that included being adopted by American Indians and being buried as an American Indian.

No, They went for the low hanging fruit, the easy-to-prove charges, and jailed many of them. The conviction rate was actually quite high. This was a choice to ensure conviction.

They did not charge Trump or his cohort for inciting to riot. Since they did not do this, an apology is owed to H. "Rap" Brown. He said a whole lot less in Cambridge and was sent to jail. That was a mistake that the administration came to regret.

Treason would have been tough to prove. They were clearly organized, and they were clearly engaged in an attack to prevent the transfer of power. If they could have convinced a jury that this constituted "wageing war" is anyone's guess.

Bottom line is that those who violently attacked the seat and institutions of government were found guilty by a jury of their peers.

Unsurprising when they dedicated ⅓ of the entire resources of the FBI to it, as if there weren't other problems in America worth investigating.

So, in other words, they weren't guilty of treason and it would have not been possible to prove. They didn't try to convict anybody of treason.
Bottom line is that those who violently attacked the seat and institutions of government were found guilty by a jury of their peers.
Did you support the prisoners essentially being tortured in prison and placed in solitary confinement? JM, I find your level of delight at these people being convicted and imprisoned a bit... concerning. I don't like to see that happen, even to people who are my political enemies.
