At least Sen. Kennedy is acknowledging the tragedy and the US role in it.
I think the department is investigating it now, and I'm sorry. I'm just so sorry it happened. It was a mistake.

I'm not used to agreeing with people named Sen. Kennedy; for most of my life the name has prompted almost Pavlovian disagreement. Unlearning that can be a challenge.

i’m fine with Kennedy’s statement. it seems sincere. he could be mistaken.

As far as i understand, this article below describes T’s position.
Others may know more.

March 8 / “Trump blames Iran for strike that killed school girls - as US investigators point to American bomb”
Michael Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, declined to fully endorse the president’s assertion that Iran had been to blame for the strike when asked Sunday
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 34268.html

Personally, i don’t find anything disappointing in T asking questions, investigations are in process.
He has STRONG confidence in the U.S. military. It’s reasonable for him to want to be certain about what happened.
i don’t fault that.

i believe he loathes war and killing, he’s been consistent - altho he’s not CO or a pacifist.

It seems there’s little or no question, if the U.S. is responsible, which could be, it was a horrfying mistake.
If Iran, it could have been incompetence, or worse, intentional.

Speculation is speculation.
Time usually vindicates, or proves wrong. Either way, it’s speculation.

To myself, i speculated Elizabeth Smart’s father was involved in her disappearance. i was pretty sure.

i was 100% wrong.
i’m very happy to say.

Sometimes i think it’s best to want to be wrong. Esp when thinking negatively about others.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

I suspect a venn diagram of people who believe the school strike was Iranian and people who believe the 2020 election was stolen is a single circle.

Reporter: "Mr. President, you just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war. But you're the only person in your government saying this. Even your Defense secretary wouldn't say that when he was asked standing over your shoulder on your plane on Saturday. Why are you the only person saying this?"

Trump: "Because I just don't know enough about it. I think it's something that I was told is under investigation, but Tomahawks are used by others, as you know. Numerous other nations have Tomahawks — they buy them from us. But … whatever the report shows, I'm willing to live with that report."
The US is the only country in this conflict that has Tomahawk missiles. The idea that Iran somehow got a hold of one of these and fired it at the at the school at the same time as the US’s strike on the IRG facility is asinine.

Mistakes happen all the time in war. Trump’s inability to admit mistakes or take responsibility for them is just another layer in this mess.

Well I think it won't be a complete circle. I still believe there are people who have enough wisdom to realize situations are complex and that the truth might never be known because of all the war propaganda being sold from different factions including Iran. Remember they claimed it was all Israel's fault that one of their terrorist groups attacked Israel and murdered civilian men, women and children on Oct. 7. Like I said a lot of propaganda. And it's not something where CSI can come in and solve the crime in an hour. This is destruction in real time.

The simple fact remains: Iran decided to put a "girls' school" (although it is unclear now if it were actually just a normal school) right smack in the middle of a naval military complex, right on a harbour. What were they teaching there? Rowing?

Likely the same thing taught in any other elementary school.

You are aware that we have many schools, similarly located? My wife attended such a high school. Just off post.

Why do people keep questioning the obvious. Do you think these missiles are infallible? Our intelligence perfect?

Is the current administration endued with papal-like infallibility? If anything, the inability to admit "we were wrong" seems to pervade.

Another example of "Pealism" power of positive thinking. Never deviate from the positive, everything is a manifestation go "greatness."

No it’s just assuming America’s enemies do the same thing Americans do for only malicious reasons.

I suspect the "report" will never see the light of day, if it is honestly done.
