2026 Minab school airstrike in Iran
Re: 2026 Minab school airstrike in Iran
I wouldn't say the Trump administration has been entirely reliable with their reporting on Iran. In the previous round of missile strikes they claimed the nuclear program was "obligated", now the president justifies this attack by saying they were "two weeks away" from nuclear weapons. I would advise taking their statements with the proverbial grain of salt.

So, if one doesn't believe in spreading possible lies, one shouldn't report anything that the Trump administration says?
Maybe it would be better to report what all sides are saying, noting that all sources quoted have been unreliable.

I’m not quite confident who discerns truth here but if we’re basing honesty as criteria, forget Obama and Biden
Trump does exactly what he says he will do. He’s not perfect and no one here says he is. He didn’t say a thing that I know of about this particular story.

If that is true, I know it was not by the plan of our military.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 8:15 am BBC fact check has confirmed the strike of the school .
I remember false stories circulating after October 7 massacre so will wait for further information-

Of course it doesn't.
However, there is shared moral culpability when a violent, homicidal regime decides to use hospitals and schools as staging areas to launch missiles, which Hamas and Hezbollah (which are two arms of the Iranian regime) regularly do. It appears they do the same thing on their own soil.
I don't see why it's so hard to simply name evil as evil. War and killing are not good, but just because someone is an opponent to the U.S. and Israel does not automatically make them righteous. To reiterate, Iran has been firing missiles at Syria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Georgia, Israel, and Azerbaijan.
At some point, these countries are going to retaliate, and many innocent lives will be lost. But it is entirely wrong to place all the blame on those countries and not on the regime.
Incidentally, the highest number of casualties from this conflict are still the protesters that the regime executed.

It is improper to compare the Iranian regime's propaganda outlets to the White House. Obviously both are biased, but one has a much longer, much more storied history of issuing complete fabrications and being entirely unreliable. Yet you have cited them as a source here on MennoNet. I think you should retract your statements based on what the Iranian regime said.

Both sides are unreliable. 30,537 false or misleading claims from Trump's first term. Are that many documented from Iran?

Do you really trust the Iranian regime?
Here’s an example (source is NPR, reporting on the regime’s official statements / trials of protesters):

When rhetorical gears shift from “they bad” to “both sides bad” the argument is over. It becomes a form of shape-shifting.JohnH wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 5:46 pmDo you really trust the Iranian regime?

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.
