That one is completely legal unless you are the retailer selling it. Once an individual buys a mattress, he is free to remove the tags. However, it does void the warranty by doing so.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:22 pmOr pull off their mattress tags!JohnH wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:07 pmGiven Valerie's occupation, I bet she sees them regularly. It's possible to be friends with people and even help them whilst simultaneously recognising that laws exist for a reason. For example, I know people who speed, change out the emissions on their truck, and many other things. Same goes for immigration laws.

Sorry you’re not aware, I have heard it’s in the millions, maybe that is not a lot to you, granted it is a drop in the bucket. They were the wise ones.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:21 pmSo this has been my experience also. Under President Bush, I knew many illegals here in the US. For the last 8 years, I have only interacted with 2 and one self-deported. In the past, I hired many illegals. However, I have not received an application from any illegals in the last 10 years. So, it is curious that "millions of illegals have flooded the country under the previous admin."
I am not aware of "a lot". Anyway how is it a wise step to return if you cannot provide a living for your family, there's gang violence, etc. or worse, you have to fear that the US military may strike your fishing boat?

Illegals were given a lot. While under Biden my Mom lost her food stamp card in CA, thankfully they bring in free food & produce to her apartment office every Monday. So she lived here all her 88 years and sees illegals get a lot of handouts, even CDL license to unqualified illegal immigrants. My Mom has followed politics my entire life very very close. She was concerned about the threat of communism when I was very small. So she reads a lot watches a lot listens a lot and is one of the biggest Trump fans I’ve ever known but so are my best friends, especially those in Florida. My manager at work is as well and so a lot of customers who aren’t afraid to wear their Trump hats most of them are older because they remember a better America.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:27 pmMy illegal employees contributed to SS and Medicare...of course, they will never see the money.

Ok, I disagree. This just hasn't been my experience at all...and I am referencing illegals. I cannot speak for people who are asylum seekers or who came under TPS, some of whom my parents sponsored.Valerie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:33 pmIllegals were given a lot.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:27 pmMy illegal employees contributed to SS and Medicare...of course, they will never see the money.
I did look up your stats about millions self deporting and it doesn't seem like DHS has reached one million. They are now offering $2600 to self deport.

How does your mom know that the CDL holders are "unqualified illegal immigrants"?Valerie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:33 pmSo she lived here all her 88 years and sees illegals get a lot of handouts, even CDL license to unqualified illegal immigrants.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:27 pmMy illegal employees contributed to SS and Medicare...of course, they will never see the money.

According to a statement from The White House, an estimated 1.9 million undocumented individuals self-deported in 2025, following a crackdown on immigration. This figure is part of a total of over 2.5 million illegal aliens who left the U.S. in that period, alongside 605,000 formal deportations, resulting in negative net migration.
Key 2025 Immigration Data:
Self-Deportations: Approximately 1.9 million, according to The White House.
Total Departures: Over 2.5 million (combined self-deportations and formal removals).
Arrests: Over 158,000 illegal aliens were arrested by the administration in 2025.
Note: These figures are based on data provided by the administration and represent a significant, stated increase in enforcement actions.

The weapon he was brandishing was a cell phone. Leaving it home, and not helping people who are pepper-sprayed might have saved his life. But helping people was his profession.
I doubt than leaving his gun home would have made a difference. If he didn't have one, the border patrol could have provided one for him after he was shot dead.
