What message would that send? Sorry. Under Biden millions came in illegally & so Trump won because MOST Americans thought it is an emergency, he said what was going to be done & those who voted for him felt it should be done and the protesters need to STOP their evil behavior.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:20 pm For those who think there is an emergency that requires sending ICE as a paramilitary force, with shock and awe ...
What exactly is that emergency?
Clearly, this is not how you would do a fraud investigation. It is not how you arrest illegal immigrants, they know their addresses, they can knock on their door at 5 a.m. just like ICE always has.
So what is the emergency that justifies this action?
I hear a lot of political grievance, both here and from the White House, but political grievance is not a reason to send paramilitary units. Domestic politics are best handled politically.
If ICE withdraws, the violence stops. Why not do that?

What is the reason for a shock and awe paramilitary force? If the goal is to pick up illegal immigrants, why not just do that?
Seems like ICE could end the confrontation tomorrow by simply leaving. Unless provocation is the point. If ICE is doing nothing wrong, seems like they could allow and support investigations. I can't think of any good reason to announce that ICE agents can do whatever they want without fear of prosecution. If you give people guns and an opportunity to intimidate people, I think it's important to make sure that is not abused.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I agree with how it’s being handled, was quite impressed with Ron DeSantis. Never a “perfect” situation but it’s been very successful.
We are ALL FOR legal entry, law abiding hard working people to be a part of this country in the right way. Better for them, better for Americans who welcome any ethnic group legally just like if WE wanted to go to another country to live.
Jesus said of the last days “ because Lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold”. Lawlessness abounds when we justify lawlessness & give it a huge applaud as if it’s good.

Millions of illegal aliens who have yet to be deported.
Americans have a right to elect a federal government which runs on a platform of "the largest deportation in history".
Americans have a right to set their own laws concerning who is allowed to enter, stay, and who isn't.
Which they are doing in states where the local and state governments cooperate.Clearly, this is not how you would do a fraud investigation. It is not how you arrest illegal immigrants, they know their addresses, they can knock on their door at 5 a.m. just like ICE always has.
Minnesota has decided to refuse to do so.
An insurrection from a hostile state that seems to think it can defy federal law?So what is the emergency that justifies this action?
Yes. Domestic politics were handled politically. Trump and the Republicans got elected. Now they're busy enforcing the laws as part of the platform they ran on.I hear a lot of political grievance, both here and from the White House, but political grievance is not a reason to send paramilitary units. One state does not get to veto federal laws for the rest of the union.
Okay, Boot: if the federal government withdrew from Fort Sumter, the violence would have stopped in the Civil War. Right? If ICE withdraws, the violence stops. Why not do that?

Probably, therefore, a while, I was getting a lot of customers who seem to be because they could barely speak English. Over the last year that’s become almost nonexistent. There were a lot that have taken the wise step of self deporting. I have Vietnamese friends in California and worked with them and they came in the right way. They were given a lot of benefits to get started some benefits people like my mother who was not very well off did not get nor did I as a single parent who had to work two jobs however, I did not take an issue with him being immigrants because our country was trying to help them. And they were good, honest, hard working people. Of course that was the 70s before there were terrorists and dex trafficking. My daughter who is not a Trump fan has a beautiful 12-year-old daughter. They live in San Diego county. Her daddy is very overprotective and my daughter said that is because they live close to the border. In their beautiful tourist town, my sister, full of venom about Trump from 2015 on, lives in a high price “gated” community because they are close to the border. I grew up in southern CA. I know what it’s like to have gangs around & be afraid having racism towards whites.Southerner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:36 pmHave you met any illegals?Valerie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:33 pmUnder Biden millions came in illegallyBootstrap wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:20 pm For those who think there is an emergency that requires sending ICE as a paramilitary force, with shock and awe ...

Given Valerie's occupation, I bet she sees them regularly. I do myself too and know some.
It's possible to be friends with people and even help them whilst simultaneously recognising that laws exist for a reason. For example, I know people who speed, change out the emissions on their truck, and many other things. Same goes for immigration laws.

Re: Civil War-again?
So this has been my experience also. Under President Bush, I knew many illegals here in the US. For the last 8 years, I have only interacted with 2 and one self-deported. In the past, I hired many illegals. However, I have not received an application from any illegals in the last 10 years. So, it is curious that "millions of illegals have flooded the country under the previous admin."Valerie wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:06 pmProbably, therefore, a while, I was getting a lot of customers who seem to be because they could barely speak English. I am not aware of "a lot". Anyway how is it a wise step to return if you cannot provide a living for your family, there's gang violence, etc. or worse, you have to fear that the US military may strike your fishing boat?
