I am not aware that he was a teacher. He was an ICU nurse with no criminal record...shot ten times. Seems like the makings of a Civil War
If he left his weapon and rounds of ammunition at home, he’d be alive. Common sense.
Here is what you said earlier.

"The speed of which so many were hired for ICE I imagine there will some evil that slips through the cracks. I admit to be clueless to the screening of potential ICE agents.
I also believe there should be better training- I doubt there’s any more stressful job on the entire country.

Last night Trump said they are not without mistakes." -- Valerie

Speed kills!
I really don’t know details of training, but I do know there will be less mistakes without these protestors obstructing their job. Common sense.

Do you still sense that we are heading towards a Civil War...and will it be in your lifetime?

1. Witnesses
2. Evidence
3. Investigations
4. Accountability

This is especially true if the government might be breaking the law. When officials instead work to block those things, it makes me wonder what they’re hiding.
Considering the amount of eyewitness video footage, nothing is hidden.
Precisely. Eyewitness video footage is crucial.

And that is a lot of what the federal government is calling "obstruction" - observing, filming, and calling attention to what they are doing. People are getting arrested or roughed up or arrested for doing just that. That has led to them shooting people who were guilty of no crime and were not threatening ICE officers.
JohnH wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:01 amYou also seem to assume the government isn’t doing investigations. Perhaps they are. They don’t have to tell you about an ongoing investigation.
The reason police usually announce an investigation after every shooting is to establish trust, to reassure people that if someone was killed illegally, that will be uncovered. I think a lot of these investigations let officers off when they shouldn't, the system is not perfect, but it's a whole lot better than nothing.

Minnesota should be allowed to investigate this shooting.
JohnH wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:01 amThe latest example is someone decided to brandish a firearm, confront officers, and then reached for his firearm. What do you expect the federal government to do?
Look at the videos. It sure looks like he was holding a phone, not a gun. In the videos I have seen, he was not "brandishing a firearm". He had a gun, they did not know that until they had him on the ground and checked him for weapons, and an ICE officer took it. The man they shot did not get the gun out.

This is precisely why observing and recording what happens is important.

If the protesters were not there recording it, we would not know that. Minnesota has launched an investigation, the Federal Government is trying to prevent that. Surely this needs to be investigated.
JohnH wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:01 amThe proper answer is that citizens need to stop trying to block federal agents from doing their job. This isn’t a civil war and armed resistance isn’t acceptable.
Witnessing and recording what they are doing is not obstructing. A lot of what ICE is doing is not "their job" at all. A paramilitary force, flagrantly using violence and intimidation, on formerly peaceful streets ... that's what we have now. And you can't blame that on Minnesota.

I sure hope people don't start to shoot back or attack ICE officers, but that's not what happened yesterday. Minneapolis feels like it's under a military invasion right now. That's not because people are witnessing, recording, or protesting the invasion.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Actually, no.

What they saw in his hand was a phone, not a gun. If they had not attacked him, they never would have known he had a gun on his person. And he was legally allowed to carry it, he had a concealed carry permit.

The videos are very helpful.

Boot you sure have missed a lot of video footage of them using their cars to obstruct, hitting with snow shovel, throwing bricks at them, smashing the windows of their cars & stealing & breaking o to the trunk with federal papers and the list goes on & on. Last Sunday a house of worship was attacked.
Right. Peaceful protestors on lying media outlets and lying MN government hoping people don’t watch truthful media outlets.

He’s dead. He could have been alive, perhaps God knew he had evil intent as there was no reason in the world, he needed to carry that much ammunition on him not in a time when we have mass killings.

Yes I do, because people are believing liars. It’s dividing the country (families as well) -
In my lifetime? God has my days numbered so I don’t know.
This is the worse I’ve ever seen our country divided “in my lifetime” - people hated Trump who has 3 more years lord willing. In the “red” states it is much more peaceful though so we are only witnessing areas where they hate Trump & promote lawlessness and protect & release the worse criminals back on the streets.

He never reached for his firearm and it appears the agents had already removed it out of his holster before they shot him.
So what was he teaching for?

Perhaps he should have stuck to nursing and teaching instead of trying to re-enact Ruby Ridge and reaching for a gun when confronting federal agents.

Guess what I don’t do? I don't carry a gun around. I don’t attend violent protests. I don’t try to “confront” armed law enforcement. If given a lawful command, I comply.

When you watch these videos, would any of them ever convince you a protester was in the wrong?

The reason I ask is you had the exact opposite bias about January 6. I haven’t seen you saying much about how wrong it was to shoot Ashli Babbitt. Why not?

Except he wasn't reaching for a gun. An agent had his pistol and then they shot him...10X.
