The witnesses need to be listened to, not deported. The alleged perpetrators should also be listened to. I oppose the death penalty.
The “witnesses” are other detainees. Not exactly reliable or unbiased.

Is there a reason you think people with lawful deportation orders shouldn’t be deported?

We are not to resist evil with evil. Is praying for change and calling people's attention to these things all we can do?
Please begin by using the word “alleged” evenly, no matter who the alleged victim/perp is.

I fail to sense listening when harshly judgmental words are used from the get-go, like, tyrants, murderers.

Not just you.
It’s normalized and appears commonly.

I hope that changes. The sooner the better.

Those accused of killing the man and his co-workers are not exactly reliable or unbiased either.

If people are witnesses to a killing, they should be allowed to be witnesses at the trial.

That's the part that quite simply is not true.

In fact, both the DOJ and the government were announcing their opinions within hours of the time it happened, without doing an investigation. An investigation that reaches a “not enough to indict” conclusion doesn’t happen in a matter of hours.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I hope that is equally true when loaded language is used against protestors or immigrants.

Do you have an example on forum?
I’m aware of atrocious language off forum.
I’d prefer not to confuse the two.

Investigations can happen very quickly. There’s no reason things have to happen slowly.

In California the BMV wait could be 7 hours.
People would line up at 5 AM.

In Ohio there’s often no wait at all. You just walk in and get it dons.

Government doesn’t have to be slow and inefficient.

Not if you believe in the power of prayer. Sometime prayer isn't the least we can do, it is the most we can do.
Thank you for saying it. Most, and best, and central to faith.

"We have arrested everyone who witnessed our crime; anyone who is arrested is an unreliable witness. Therefore, there are no reliable witnesses to our crimes. Therefore, we are innocent."

Literally all you need for the most absolutist authoritarian government to have free reign is for its citizens to accept this logic. It is a sad day for the free world when this is acceptable rhetoric.

If it were true that anyone detained by the police are automatically unreliable, there is literally nothing standing in the way of the state doing whatever they want. Just detain anyone who could reliably testify against you. Now you no longer have Rule of Law; you have the Law of the Rulers.

The rhetoric of worshiping dictatorships, right here on Mennonet.

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.
