Reports of another ICE murder and cover-up:
We are not to resist evil with evil. Is praying for change and calling people's attention to these things all we can do?
Civil War-again?
Re: Civil War-again?
Times have changed somewhat... In this case, the DOJ and the government have launched a media and social-media campaign instead of doing an investigation into the shooting itself. And they did an investigation into the person who was shot instead of investigating the officer. ..
In this case, in order to prevent a full-on repeat of G Floyd, I appreciate some background has been shared.
The world doesn’t need more fantasies and false gods surrounding victims who likely are not blameless.
MSM has that power, to create false narratives, with lots of eager takers in the public to act on them.

Good news: multiple camera angles from different people filming are available.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Tue Jan 20, 2026 5:58 pm
Video evidence can seem to support conflicting narratives depending on angle, timing, and context, and that’s why people in this case are calling for independent analysis: so trained reviewers and, if it comes to that, juries can evaluate all the evidence together rather than impressions from isolated snippets.
Likewise there is plenty of context of what led up to it happening.
There has already been an investigation and a decision made there isn’t enough to indict on.
The FBI is independent of ICE, although ICE also has its own internal investigative division.

Re: Civil War-again?
You left out the part about him strangling himself.
I suppose ICE should have done a better job of suicide watch?
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is legally required to issue public notification of detainee deaths. Last week, it said Lunas Campos, a 55-year-old father of four and registered sex offender, had died at Camp East Montana, but made no mention of him being involved in an altercation with staff immediately before his death.
In response to questions from the AP, the Department of Homeland Security, which includes ICE, on Thursday amended its account of Lunas Campos’ death, saying he tried to kill himself.
“Campos violently resisted the security staff and continued to attempt to take his life,” DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said. “During the ensuing struggle, Campos stopped breathing and lost consciousness.”

Not if you believe in the power of prayer. Sometime prayer isn't the least we can do, it is the most we can do.

Please begin by using the word “alleged” evenly, no matter who the alleged victim/perp is.
Hysteria isnt a good look.

Re: Civil War-again?
The man who killed himself was indeed a sex offender, though. No need for “alleged” there. Then he fought off the officers trying to save his life.

Did you not see I left that part in?
I did leave out some insulting language the meme had about McLaughlin. However, ICE spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin is trying to say Campos died while trying to commit suicide.

Re: Civil War-again?
I think that "reports" here has a similar meaning.
The witnesses need to be listened to, not deported. The alleged perpetrators should also be listened to. I oppose the death penalty.

Re: Civil War-again?
A response from pro-ICE police chiefs in the Minneapolis area:
"Good morning, everyone. I'm Mark Bruley, Police Chief of the City of Brooklyn Park. Behind me is a bunch of amazing police chiefs that are here in support of a very short, but very important message that we want to share with you," the chief said at a press conference.
"What you won't hear from any of us today is rhetoric of abolish ICE or that there shouldn't be immigration enforcement," he continued. "The truth is, immigration enforcement is necessary for our national security and for local security, but how it's done is extremely important. In fact, we have a long history of working exceptionally well with our federal partners, including ICE agents, and we have seen the best of them perform their job extremely well in the past."
"With that said, recently, as the last two weeks, we, as the law enforcement community, have been receiving endless complaints about civil rights violations in our streets from U.S. citizens," he said. "What we're hearing is they're being stopped in traffic stops or on the street with no cause and being forced to demand paperwork to determine if they are here legally. As this went on over the past two weeks, we started hearing from our police officers the same complaints as they fell victim to this while off-duty."
"Every one of these individuals is a person of color who has had this happen to them," said Bruley. "In Brooklyn Park, one particular officer that shared her story with me was stopped as she passed ICE going down the roadway. When they boxed her in, they demanded her paperwork, of which she's a U.S. citizen and clearly would not have any paperwork."
"When she became concerned about the rhetoric and the way she was being treated, she pulled out her phone in an attempt to record the incident, the phone was knocked out of her hands, preventing her from recording it," said Bruley. "The officers had their guns drawn during this interaction, and after the officer became so concerned, they were forced to identify themselves as a Brooklyn Park police officer in hopes of slowing the incident and deescalating the incident down."
"The agents then immediately left after hearing this, making no other comments, no other apologies, just got in their vehicles and left," he explained. "I wish I could tell you that this was an isolated incident. In fact, many of the chiefs standing behind me have similar incidents with their off-duty officers."
This isn't just important because it happened to off-duty police officers, but what it did do is we know that our officers know what the Constitution is, they know what right and wrong is, and they know when people are being targeted," said Bruley. "And that's what they were. If it is happening to our officers, it pains me to think at how many of our community members are falling victim to this every day."
"It has to stop," he concluded.
