I was about to move this post to Bunny Trails, but I see it's already here.

Today’s big problem is learning how to use/not use the internet.
1903: we are here
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DO3mB7GEZol/
In 1903, Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson made the first cross-country road trip in an automobile.
On a $50 wager, Jackson, who did not even own a car, bought a two-cylinder 1903 Winton touring car and hired a mechanic, Sewall K. Crocker, to join him. They named their car “The Vermont.”
The journey began in San Francisco on May 23 and ended in New York City 63 days later.
They had to navigate a country with few paved roads and no gas stations, relying on shovels, ropes, and local directions,
which were sometimes deliberately misleading.![]()
The trip was a logistical challenge, with numerous breakdowns and parts being replaced along the way.
They were later joined by a bulldog named Bud who became a mascot for the trip. Jackson’s drive proved that the automobile was more than just a novelty, paving the way for the future of American road travel.

1. We’ve had a recent disaster ourselves and/or local needs are urgent.
2. We don’t have the money or manpower to contribute to addressing problems farther away like the borders or foreign places like Chicago.![]()
On the other hand most folks I know in real time don’t spend a lot of time “doom scrolling” either. But then just because I haven’t seen it or heard it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. It just means that around here we see Jesus’ commandment as working itself out locally with very real needs.

You're not a king or a pope so you can't use it that way. Your opinions are first person and yours alone so use first person singular pronouns.

I doubt I'd be surprised about what Thomas is doing. But what is he doing?
Is he visiting Milepost 81?

This forum would be a little more boring without all the opportunities to make fun of people for their mistakes. Yes, I was using voice text. It heard Thomas instead of Hamas.Soloist wrote: ↑Wed Oct 15, 2025 12:57 pmIsn't that what we have Steve for? train spying?ohio jones wrote: ↑Wed Oct 15, 2025 12:51 pmI doubt I'd be surprised about what Thomas is doing. Spellcheck (voice text?!) - i think my daughter uses it.
brings a whole new challenge level to understanding what’s written.
Even harder: CC/Closed Captioning!
i use it often. But, oof! i feel sorry for young readers, and ESL.
