^^That’s not how i read it.
i read it that ABC contacted the White House about a decision they made, which Trump agreed with, then Trump shared his low personal opinion of Kimmel, then added he was considering pursuing more legal action.
Not my words or approach, i’m not DJT.
i know of no one who has been targeted with the full force of msm power AND much more, going on 10 years, AND remained standing.
THE PEOPLE made a big mistake in allowing entertainers and their industries, news+entertainment, become so rich and powerful they believe they’re beyond accountability, and they nearly are. As lawsuits+settlements reflect.
Imagine “losing” on the scale they do, yet continuing as tho nothing happened. That’s a clue.
THE PEOPLE are complicit, for buying what they’re selling. Over decades.
Not unlike vacuous hollywood stars and sports idols.
In world history, entertainers/court jesters, etc., were considered THE DREGS OF SOCIETY. Not idols. Far from it.
Respectable people would have nothing to do with them. They were known to be amoral, indulging in alcohol, drugs, carnal sins, the dregs of society. Poorly educated. Not advisors of states.
Once they figured out a way to accrue wealth, and great wealth, they appropriated social standing, even walking into positions of idol worship, even normalizing and naming it idol worship. Without apology.
Twists+turns.
imho, it falls on individuals to CHOOSE to not buy what they’re selling. Many are no longer buying.
The future remains to be seen.
Reports are, THE PEOPLE ARE CHOOSING not to buy a lot of it. Great!
So far, these entities are SO RICH, they can continue whether THE PEOPLE buy or not.
No one knows for how long.

This seems appropriate for the Politics subforum?
I don't see anything about it that involves Elon Musk, Twitter, or the Babylon Bee. On the other hand, it does seem to be a highly political topic.

Walk down Memory Lane:
Mark Z is on P.2, and more
FBI / Social media collusion with career politicians

There are more topics.
One thing that’s revealed is, “a call from the White House” alters things, whether by legal action or not.
Mark Z answering to Congress revealed “how things work”. Without legal action.

You and I seem to read that differently. No where does it say the government cancelled him. He is talking about suing them going forward. I suspect because of the lies and distortions Kimmel presents daily.
I, personally, have no dog in this fight. I care less if Kimmel stays on air. Not sure how all this is connected to the title of this thread. Let's stay on topic.

Re: Elon Musk. Twitter. Babylon Bee.
That is not actually what happened. What happened was the Trump Administration through Trump's FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened that the FCC could take action against ABC and Disney over Kimmel's remarks. This was widely reported and unambiguous. For example: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congre ... rcna232496temporal1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 2:48 pm ^^That’s not how i read it.

Ted Cruz rips FCC chair's Jimmy Kimmel threat as 'unbelievably dangerous'
Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr warned that the FCC could take action against ABC and Disney over the late-night host's remarks about Charlie Kirk's death.
WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, blasted Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr on Friday for threats he made this week related to Jimmy Kimmel's show, calling the Trump administration official's actions "dangerous as hell."
“I think it is unbelievably dangerous for government to put itself in the position of saying we’re going to decide what speech we like and what we don’t, and we’re going to threaten to take you off air if we don’t like what you’re saying,” Cruz said on his podcast, "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
“I like Brendan Carr. He’s a good guy, he’s the chairman of the FCC. I work closely with him, but what he said there is dangerous as h***,” Cruz said.
Cruz is chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the FCC. He warned Carr's actions could have long-term consequences.
“It might feel good right now to threaten Jimmy Kimmel, yeah, but when it is used to silence every conservative in America, we will regret it,” Cruz said.
President Donald Trump sided with Carr while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, when asked about Cruz's remarks.
“I think Brendan Carr is a great American patriot, so I disagree with Ted Cruz,” Trump said.
In an interview Wednesday with conservative commentator Benny Johnson, Carr warned that the FCC could take action against ABC and its parent company, Disney, over remarks Kimmel made on his late-night show Monday about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
. . .
Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., told reporters that Cruz "is absolutely right" in his criticism of Carr's comments.
"This is just unacceptable behavior," said Tillis, who announced over the summer that he won't seek re-election next year.
Cruz went on to say Friday: "I hate what Jimmy Kimmel said," but likened Carr's comments about Disney taking the easy way or the hard way to a classic mob movie.
"I gotta say, that’s right out of 'Goodfellas.' That’s right out of a mafioso coming into a bar going, nice bar you have here, it’d be a shame if something happened to it,” Cruz said.

^^It’s up to the legal system to determine whether any case has a standing or not.
There is ZERO DOUBT anything Trump or his admin says or does will go without scrutiny.
So. “Different day, same ol’ stuff.” meh
THE PEOPLE, THE MARKET, should decide. They ARE deciding. Or, they HAVE decided.
How long will THE HUGE INDUSTRY defy the market?
That’s in process.

Wrt this topic, Elon made THE BIG MOVE when he bought Twitter. Not the only needed move.

That’s why i chose this topic to add the above news discussion video, THE HILL.
There are so many misunderstandings on forum. Words are many, communication is challenging.![]()
Robert wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 1:45 pmIt was Nexstar and Sinclair that put the presser on to cancel Jimmy Kimmel. The FCC did not take any action.
And he has received several settlements so it must not be too far fetched. Both companies settled out of court so they did not have to go through discovery. Most likely even worse is being hidden.
The government did coerce. This has been documented.
Just because the social media companies complied does not mean it is right.
