Wife: I also heard about a couple there that was in the process of trying to adopt a child there and now their mission is trying to convince them to relocate to the Dominican Republic without the child.steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 6:19 am My wife's cousin operated an orphanage in Haiti. Their social media posts are far and few between. We got this message this morning. Prayers would be appreciated.
UPDATED SERIOUS SITUATION:
I found out some important information from a big security meeting today. Someone came by our office and shared with us after the meeting. The 400 Mawozo has been in control of the police station which they burnt during their attack on Sunday at 2 AM. The 400 Mawozo is in control of Ganthier. The military (about 12 members) did go yesterday to Ganthier to fight the 400 Mawozo. They did not take the police station back. They did hide in the area watching all their movement.
The head of the 400 Mawozo “Lamo Sanjou,” which means “Death Without Days,” stood by the burnt-out police station yesterday saying he took over Ganthier and now he will take Fond Parisien, and blood will run down the streets. Something big will happen tonight, but I can not say what it is. Everyone pray… I can’t go into it, but there is a lot of corruption behind the scenes.
We are in extreme danger. We are facing life and death. Within two days, we may be attacked here at Love A Child.
Please, anyone reading this, we need more police, military, Kenyans, and armored vehicles here to help the military fight. No Kenyans have come to help us. No help has come! Unbelievable, yet I know why. I can’t tell you right now.
This is an emergency! We need your urgent prayers… ASAP!
Yet I believe the Lord will watch over us and protect everyone here.

no words for the sorrowful things happening in the world, domestic+foreign - - on the U.S. doorstep,
while the lion’s share of media attention is devoted to trivialities, earthly egos, power, greed.
Example:
(ashamed) and praying for God’s protection and guidance.

I am reaching out for prayer for our family in regards to our daughter. Today is the first day she is going into the school building. She spent the last school term doing cyber at home and it didn't go well. We all agreed that she needs to be around other students and in front of a teacher.steve-in-kville wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 1:49 pm I don't share personal stuff too often, but our daughter was struggling with some mental health issues the last several months. She is now in a mental health facility on a short term basis. We are hoping to get resolution. Those that have been here long enough know we haven't had the easiest road in life in the past few years.
Your prayers are appreciated. Thank you.
This has been quite stressful on both my and I.
Prayers appreciated.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
My wife's aunt was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few weeks ago. This past weekend she had a stroke and is currently in the hospital. The family must make a decision whether to pursue treatment for the cancer or not. It is basically a quantity of life or quality of life type of decision. Her husband was the minister that baptized me when I joined the Dunkard Brethren Church back in the day, and he officiated our wedding.
Prayers would be appreciated.

Please continue to pray. She took a turn for the worse the last few days. A few nieces that have nursing degrees are flying in from out of state to be with her in what appears to be her last days.the-real-steve wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 6:36 am My wife's aunt was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few weeks ago. i have been astonished at the level of pain a sick, weakened person can endure, for lengths of time, i can’t understand it.
i’ve long believed the inexplicable will to live is God-breathed and defies human understanding.
i believe there are times when unseen, unheard prayers of others carry us along.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.
