Dr Todd Grande / What is Borderline Rage? (Borderline Personality Disorder Anger) / 8min
✏️ Description:
“This video describes the concept of “borderline rage,” which refers to the anger that is oftentimes seen with borderline personality disorder.

Specifically, one of the criterion in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) indicates inappropriate intense anger or difficulty controlling anger. I believe a lot of times when we see this term “borderline rage” it is referring to that even though when we think of rage, we think of a more primitive type of anger.

I think one of the reasons is that with borderline personality disorder, the anger does appear to be more intense and more primal than we would see with somebody without borderline personality disorder.

Anger in borderline personality just one symptom, however, it's the symptom that tends to get noticed first or at least one of the symptoms that tends to get noticed early on.

That's because of the outward acting component of anger.

Anger expressed in borderline personality is not simple.
We see constant anger, which is when somebody appears to be angry all the time.
There is automatic anger, which is anger that comes about without any stimuli or at least without any stimuli that would normally provoke anger.

We can also see triggered anger. That is anger that does have an apparent cause.

Oftentimes with borderline personality disorder, we believe the anger has higher intensity, a lower threshold to activate, and an extended duration.

The anger associated with borderline personality disorder is often pervasive, internalized (“quiet borderline”) and externalized, cyclic associated with a desire for revenge, and there is a lack of insight as to the origin.“

Resentments are the root of much anger.

“There are NO Justified Resentments” - Wayne Dyer / 14:30min
✏️ Description:
Wayne Walter Dyer (May 10, 1940 – August 29, 2015) was an American self-help author and a motivational speaker.
Dyer completed a Ed.D. in guidance and counseling at Wayne State University in 1970. Early in his career, he worked as a high school guidance counselor, and went on to run a successful private therapy practice.

He became a popular professor of counselor education at St. John's University, where he was approached by a literary agent to put his ideas into book form. The result was his first book, Your Erroneous Zones (1976), one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 100 million copies sold.

This launched Dyer's career as a motivational speaker and self-help author, during which he published 20 more best-selling books and produced a number of popular specials for PBS. Influenced by thinkers such as Abraham Maslow and Albert Ellis, Dyer's early work focused on psychological themes such as motivation, self actualization and assertiveness.

How much more complete teaching is when Jesus Christ was put in His rightful place, at center.
Without, it’s interesting and helpful, like the above video, but missing its core.

What lengths are taken to eliminate Jesus! “With surgical precision” .. to deny Truth. What a shame.

Is there any truth to this slideshow?
Is there any value in it?

What can be done with this information? Anything?
What if triangulation and flying monkeys are added (habits)?

“Psychopath” is a strong psychiatric word. Should it be used in reports like this, aimed at laypersons?

 Slideshow / “Female Psychopaths Are Way More Common Than You Think — 17 Tips To Spot Them”
https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lov ... ds#image=2
That idea of the classic psychopath — cold, calculating, probably a dude in a suit, right? — isn’t necessarily accurate.

As it turns out, that image needs an update.
Female psychopaths exist too, and they might be a lot closer than you realize.
From the coworker who always seems to climb the ladder, to the friend with all the drama, some of them could be hiding their true nature. As Dr. Clive Boddy tells The Guardian, female psychopathy is a lot more subtle, which may be why it’s so hard to spot.

Here are some warning signs to look out for to help you do just that. .. ..

“Dr Clive Boddy says assessment skews towards obvious male traits but female psychopathy is more subtle”

.. This article was amended on 27 February 2024 to clarify that the Levenson self-report psychopathy scale is not a diagnostic test, but rather an aid to identifying psychopathic traits. ..

It’s been 5+ years since i began this topic.
It’s been ‘way longer i’ve worried about someone important to me with troubling anger problems.
i believe i pray about it everyday, maybe without ceasing, for this person and all affected.
it’s only gotten worse. i often feel like giving up, walking away.

altho i easily recognize all 17 points described in the link above, and more, i’m disturbed to think of it as psychopathy.
that’s such a strong word, and i have no training to assess.

this adult person has promised me she would get competent psychiatric help, nothing.
i offered to go with her. anger. rage, really. but rage is a frequent response, so, nothing unusual there.
no patience for faith. altho she questioned her own lack of faith recently. once, and not again.

i have consulted with professionals for myself about it. it’s very difficult. nothing satisfactory.

it seems just about impossible to do anything. i pray for the Holy Spirit to help me find good words and actions.
the fact i haven’t been completely pushed away tells me i must be doing something right. it doesn’t seem like enough.

years+years have passed. i feel like i’ve failed.

i’ve read, these types of problems can be hard to diagnose, hard to treat, a lot because of refusal to ask for help.

i’m overall treated pretty badly in this. often, terribly. still, there’s a closeness that can’t be denied. i wonder why?
it’s kind of the pattern, not just with me. abuse of loved ones. weird, eh? all these years, i don’t get it. why?
outwardly charming, abusive to loved ones. the anger.

abusers can be very slippery. i recognize all 17 points. and more. i have failed to help, altho i’ve dedicated years to trying.
it didn’t seem like too much to ask. not trying to save the world. just one person. one. what am i doing wrong?
it’s gotten worse, and she agrees. we discuss it on some level. i avoid lots of words to avoid swearing, etc. there’s a lot of swearing. it’s painful. there’s so much swearing i’ve looked up Tourette’s Syndrome. i don’think so. what do i know?
i’ve wondered about brain damage. nothing.

i believe deep anger is at center.
i know many valid reasons for anger, there may be more. over decades, never seeking help.

Anger is a strange thing.

So many psych labels, so few answers. :-|

What Does Oppositional Defiant Disorder Look Like in Adults?
An adult with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) may feel mad at the world, and lose his temper regularly — even daily.
This may manifest as road rage or verbal abuse. It may cause tension with authority figures, and trouble at work.
It may tear apart relationships. Here is what you need to know about oppositional defiant disorder and its overlap with ADHD.

Usually, what matters most is how we each manage our own anger and anxiety. The labels help us blame everyone else, they don't teach us how to do better. And blaming other people often keeps us in denial of our own issues.

Control over being angry and being anxious has a simple solution - I need to continue each day to be filled with the Spirit. Live under His control where all the characteristics of the Spirit's fruit is active in me. Pretty simple but that is how I don't give way to my flesh.

Anger continues to be a strange thing.
Valerie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 2:58 pm I just read that trumps ratings are higher than they’ve ever been and CNN said the poll shower the majority of the people said the country is on the right track. They said that will help get republicans win the mid term election and easier for the same party to win the next presidential election.

I think especially if the democrats keep fighting each other the way they have been, they can’t even agree with each other, and they can’t come up with a platform to run on, all they run on is their hatred for Trump.

It’s terribly frightening the domestic terrorists destroying Teslas,
what a violent party, do they ever get tired of being so destructive?

To begin, how i wish “never-ending campaigning” would end.
i recall obama speaking of it, i believe in his first term. Back then, i wondered if his observation was accurate?
Presently, it’s beyond question. It’s unhealthy. In all directions.

Evidently, there is public lust for it, or it would fade away. :-|
Maybe one day it will become boring, people will tire of it.

Then, hate. i correlate hate with anger, so, bringing your post here, not wanting to bt the Good Things topic.

i’m glad to read Trump has support, i pray for presidents to be protected and led by the Holy Spirit. all of them.
i pray for God’s will, not theirs or mine.

Sin is not of Jesus Christ.
It hurts. It harms. It doesn’t stay contained, innocents are harmed.

Anger and hate can be false gods. False gods cannot satisfy. Impossible. They lie.

Anger and hate are ugly. In every sense of the word.

It’s painful to witness anger and hate consume (anyone) it can get that bad. It’s hard to feel helpless to intervene.

Wouldn’t it be good to ask, “how can your burden be lifted?” if only.

It’s so much better to choose not to be angry.
Anger is a heavy burden.

i’m in a bad situation with this.
i’ve been coping with it (with a loved one) for years+years, no progress.

it’s affecting my health, and i know it. the cardiologists have asked me, “what’s going on, what’s troubling you?”
i just look at them in silence. i know. but what can be done? what more can be tried?

swearing is just part of it. it’s a big part. there’s a lot of verbal abuse and battering. swearing is the principle vehicle.

this person has volunteered questions a couple of times about a demon. i ignored, or discounted. disbelief.
more recently i’ve wondered if this could be. i’ve read a little about it.

the cost of this affects everyone involved. sin affects everyone it shouldn’t.

sin isn’t isolated. there is a ripple effect of harm.

i have sought professional help. from a number of good places. short of physical or sexual abuse, nothing.
it’s crazy how impossible it is to get help. because of privacy laws, this person must ask for help. it has not happened. over many years with every opportunity at hand. nothing.

i’ve thought, if it’s not criminal, it is insane.

it makes me wonder how many others may have similar “impossible” situations? i’m pretty sure there are many.

maybe the saddest thing for me is knowing how this life of anger was wasted, so many years, lost to anger and contempt.
that’s it? that’s what you chose for your whole life? incomprehensible.

in this case, i believe it’s about anger. the hallmark signature is profanity.

Anger is a strange thing

i believe this is way beyond the OP.
i hope it’s not common.
