Her husband was assaulted while he was passing out tracts in a township/shantytown. They pulled knives on him, stole the car and his wallet. He "fought" them off and did get away to the police station. I doubt that he hit any of them, but he did get bitten, on the same index finger, I think, that a dog had bitten part off while he was passing out tracts.
We're thankful that he escaped mostly uninjured; he has five children who need him. Please pray that the car will be recovered; one of the windows was smashed a few weeks ago, and he was robbed then, too. But he cares about people--that's why he goes back to the poor areas to give them the Gospel.

“9 Reasons Not To Worry About The Tanking Economy”
https://babylonbee.com/news/9-reasons-n ... ng-economy
The economy is in the toilet! What will you do? Relax! This is nothing to worry about.
We're all just transitioning to a brighter future together!
Here are 9 reasons not to worry about the tanking economy:
1) Biden and Kamala have totally got this:
Never has there ever been a more brilliant pair of politicians than Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They have something up their sleeve to save us all! ...Right?
2) $4 gas won't be a problem once you've been forced to buy a $100,000 electric car:
The Great Green Transition is underway!
3) Money isn't real anyway: Relaaaaxxxx!
4) You're probably fat and could use a few weeks without food: The economy is doing you a favor, fattie!
5) You can sleep easy at night knowing Ukraine just got another $12B in weapons:
You don't want Putin to murder democracy, do you?
6) It's worth it if the tanking economy saves just one climate:
Open your heart to rescuing a climate today.
7) The Middle Ages weren't that bad:
They owned nothing. And they were happy. For their entire 20-year lives.
8) Finally, you can get the last laugh on those jerks who invested in the stock market while you were loading up on Pogs:
And if you're interested in buying some Pogs, meet us behind the 7-Eleven on South Avenue in Hermosa Beach.
9) God owns everything and has promised to supply your every need: He promises to take care of those who seek him.
We like the sound of that.
8) Finally ..

This evening, i got a “glimmer of hope” for a terrible burden that has seemed impossible (for several years).
It’s not over, it’s not easy. But maybe one baby step has been accomplished.![]()
Praying for patience to wait for God’s will and timing may be my most common prayer. It sure feels like it much of the time.![]()
Thomas may be my fav Apostle.![]()
John 20:27
Then he said to Thomas,
“Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don't be unbelieving, but believing."

Re: Today ...
Today .. July 4 .. quiet here.
i’m kinda recovering from the shock of seeing weird, and undeniable, images of a MACULAR HOLE in my right eye,
AND, learning there is effective repair surgery. i knew nothing. i should have a date scheduled soon.
i began noticing a strange vision change in March. no pain, redness, no other sign.
it would get worse without repair.
i believe it takes me longer to process things and rebound than it used to. trauma goes in “slower motion.”
i’m glad for a quiet day. it’s weird. but also interesting. “how things work.”
my family thinks i’m 40.
40 was great.

Re: Today ...
When my missionary brother was here a few weeks ago, he preached in an AME church nearby. One of the members told us that she was saved through my brother's ministry/our family's Bible clubs (five per week, with as many as 565 one week); and the last time he preached at her church, her daughter Precious turned her life over to Christ. A visitor also said he came to the Lord as a child through the Bible clubs. And last Sunday night at our church, a sweet lady recounted how her son became a believer as a boy in our Bible club.
Since those particular instances were around fifty or more years ago, not counting the daughter, I'd say they are "fruit that remains." (John 15:16)

Friday .. bunny trail ..
i spoke with a banker named Jasper.
at the end, i told him i really liked his name, it was not new to me, but i’d never met anyone named Jasper before.
there is the stone, jasper.
i can’t say why it struck me metaphorically like it did. a classic name rarely used?
i like it.
