Name some soups and stews that are a favorite of yours! Store bought, homemade, from a restaurant, whatever.

Brunswick stew. My go to when I make something at home. My wife makes an excellent chicken corn noodle soup.

I am not sure if chili passes as a soup. Every year I pressure can a big batch of homemade chili using venison as the meat. If I want a quick meal, opening a jar of chili is real handy. Sprinkle the heated chili with some shredded cheese and Ritz crackers, or we eat it over a baked potato with sour cream.

I do not care for bought soups, as they have to many preservative's and are high in sodium.

One thing I learned about plain people is that they call chili “chili soup”.

I have a chili recipe I use that uses canned baked beans as a base. I think the original name was called Texas Beans or something like that. Some years back I made a "white chili" version that used chicken instead of beef, and white Canelli beans instead of canned baked beans.

Favorites for us are chicken noodles soup, butternut squash and sweet potato soup, and hubby loves veggie soup. We consider chili- all types- soup. It's usually - for us- a thicker soup but soup and I make my mom's beef stew a few times a year- favorite for us and our kids and grandkids.

At my house we enjoy Zuppa Toscana & Tortellini. They have a different flavor profile than traditional Mennonite cooking. These soups makes us feel like we are really branching out in our culinary adventure. And on the plus side, both dishes are a great way to keep up with the kale tree growing in our garden.
