So, those of you maintaining that we should not be involved at all with government and politics concerning lgbtq issues… tend to take a different stance when it comes to “racism”, where you folks seem to think political involvement, protests, and so on are entirely OK.
I find that to be a political difference. If anything, there is far more of a biblical case against accepting homosexuality than there is against the nebulous concept of “racism”, which isn’t ever even listed as a sin in the Bible.
I think you are changing the subject. This is not a political thread. And I want to avoid turning it into one.
But to take it back to the subject of this thread, I think the Bible has a LOT to say about how we should treat people of all kinds. And it's often extremely difficult to discuss what it says here because of political bandwagons. Jesus showed a lot of concern for people who were treated badly, including Samaritans, lepers, sinners, tax collectors, and the poor. He showed us how we should relate to them. Paul's concern for the slave in Philemon is also striking.
That's the biblical standard. As God's church, we should be asking ourselves how we are doing at that. Regularly.
Admittedly i am having a very hard time with the LGBTQ community. One has to consider that for the first few decades of your life it was unthinkable to have these issues/sins, let alone parade them and be proud of them. On our town square Thursday evening there was a "Pride" event. We didn't know about it but drove by the square and I commented to my husband I wonder what's going on there's so many people looks like something special is happening- we were on our way home. Then Saturday a young girl at work told me she went to the pride event on the square and it was fun. This shakes me to the core- i am really repulsed by it because i feel like its a spiritual battle that Satan is enjoying influencing, drawing, perverting, and of course conveying "pride" and then abusing Gods symbolic rainbow for their own.

You, Sudsy & I all disobeyed Jesus in divorce & remarriage so maybe that puts us in the hypocritical category the report is talking about- but continually hinting that people here may be in denial is sad- because how many do you really know??
And people here wonder why the general public views Christians as judgmental and hypocritical?

So much for conveying Im struggling. Thank you Ken for understanding.
I do not parade and make special flags to promote divorce and remarriage. Nor do I condemn people for their views. I'm just saying the whole exaltation of what I'm witnessing makes me sick. If I can't be honest here not sure where I could be honest except to God because I think He understands. You have to remember when I was growing up it made everybody sick

Look, I don't mean to pick on you. I certainly struggle with being judgmental myself as some here have probably noticed.
But have you considered that perhaps the reason that gay people feel it is important to express pride and hold pride events is because they are constantly discriminated against and told that they are "repulsive" and "sickening" to use your own words? Parades and rallies are actually the sort of response that is as old as America itself and steeped in American values of free expression and free assembly.

Homosexuality, transsexuality, weird fetishes like “furries”, and pedophilia actually are disgusting and sickening, though.
There is no excuse for trying to celebrate or publicly praise these things. As the Bible teaches us, they are wrong, indecent, and “God’s righteous decree is that those who do such things deserve to die”.

Luke 16:18 states "“Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
And
Leviticus 20:10 states “If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death."
Deuteronomy 22:22 says something similar: "If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel."
And you know what? I have seen 2nd marriages celebrated and publicly praised, even ones involving professed Christians and Anabaptists within my own extended family.
I prefer not to be so certain in my judgement of others.

God allowed divorce and remarriage though-divorce is hated by God, should not be celebrated. But die to hardness of hearts He allowed it.
Homosexuality was never condoned and it should not be paraded as it is something to be proud of.
Its speaks against Gods Creation and Satan knows and loves mocking His Creation and satan hates marriage, representative of Gods design and Christ and His Bride the Church. Thirty years ago Ken, would you have defending this open celebration or have you always believed they should parade & push it on the public? You can't tell me this should be normalized- have we fallen that far?
