The Dunning-Kruger Times is a satire site. The article starts off:
That's not what Oktoberfest is.Every year, millions of people travel to the largest volksfest in the world: Oktoberfest. Held in a town called Okto on the Bavarian side of the Swiss Alps, the 6-day party is filled with fair food from across the world and nearly every beer brewed anywhere on the planet.
But what I found really hilarious is the idea that Budweiser products would be welcome at Oktoberfest. Ever. At all.
Germans take their beer extremely seriously. It's part of their cultural identity. Beer production is regulated by the Beer Purity Law that dates back to 1516 and determines which ingredients are allowed to brew beer. Bud Light doesn't meet these regulations.
Furthermore, by law, Oktoberfest has to use beer from local Munich breweries.
I lived in Germany prior to the craft beer revolution in the US. Budweiser and Bud Light were often mocked as the epitome of bad American food.
