Must have been good because there was nothing for me to deal with when I came back. I did not read though posts. Just no flags. So the other Mods dealt with it or no issues.

i’m also travelling, so haven’t been constantly reading. i didn’t notice any maimed bodies, members leaving, etc.

on the good side, there have been some utterly amazing posts, check the usual suspects, GaryK, HK, RZehr .. others!
sometimes i’m just in awe of what can be found here. sometimes i read and just marvel at what i see.

my instructions helping the young family with 4 adopted wild childs:
“your job is to make sure (the 9 year old) doesn’t kill himself while we’re gone.”
(not suicidal) just impulsive, wreckless, no fear. easy stuff like that.

he lived. he thrived. by the time they moved, there was an amazing turnaround.

Planning a trip to Indiana to work on some property there. Will be out for most of next week.

Signed a contract on the house we are selling here in Texas last night. Now if I get the IN property sorted, I can list it and get it off us too.

Tilled and getting ready to plant the new TX garden. Should be ready to plant when I get back.

Got about 30 eggs in the fridge from our chickens. The two ducks are about grown enough to stay outside now.

Holding off on the goat. Not sure I want another animal to care for right now.

Back from Indiana. Work is done. Drove through the night and most of yesterday returning home. Recovering today.

Back at it today and full swing tomorrow around here.

Yesterday .. another appointment with the cardiologist.
i didn’t want to go. i was pretty sure he would order a nuclear stress test which would lead to surgery.

He didn’t. He said meds are working to prevent heart attack, and that’s the goal.
Return in 6 months.

Physically, i’m much better off with my family in WA, where i walk stairs and natural inclines daily, with one mile walks to the transit center. i have work to do for them. They need help. i now have my lifetime ORCA card.

Economically, is another story. This report below is ‘way conservative on rental costs - including distant suburbs.
My impression is, following the 2020 peaceful riots, LOADS more people “headed for the hills,” prices increased.
$3000/mo for crowded living, low sq footage is expected, single family homes, $4000+++.

Purchasing there is out of the question for me/most. i don’t care about that. Except, renting equates to annual rent increases, often significant, where does the money come from? People are stressed.

Tornado watch/warning. Until 2am. (Warning until 7:45pm, about 10 more minutes.) Yuck.
Heavy rain, wind. It’s dark, lightning. Sounds like hail hitting the house. Lots of hail now.

sigh.

later. power out. i hope not for long. one never knows.
