Alice claims that, but police do not drop an investigation just because some church leader says negative things about an accuser or suspected victim.
Not unless there was some good 'ol fashioned hoodwinking going on ;)

Or if the police can't find enough evidence to build a case or get a grand jury to indict, then there is no case and no conviction. Happens all the time.

Champ claims he is innocent. He alleges a disgruntled family that left Grays Prairie brought trumped-up charges against him.

Did he testify at the trial?

There was more than one victim though, correct? And they also had a recording of him admitting to some stuff?

I’m not sure about that. Would love to know the answer. I think his dad is a pastor there.
He was not ordained. He's not closely related to any of the ordained leaders at Grays Prairie. His father is deacon at a church in PA that's part of the same district.
The senior pastor, Harry Erb, is his uncle (his mother's brother).

I don't claim to be the expert. I emailed the article https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/local ... 5fec1db3d3 to my son who sells for the same company as an Eastern minister. He called him and asked him about it and that is what he was told.

It is unfortunate that there have been (and possibly still are) cases where there have been sexual improprieties, assaults, and abuses. Some of these have been covered up. It is also unfortunate that the "me too" thinking is gaining traction and some innocent folks are being accused of things. IMO, any one of us could be accused (and found "guilty") if some disgruntled person would decide to bring charges. We would like to trust the court system, but I believe all of us have heard of innocent people spending years in prison based on false accusations.

I'm sorry, I hadn't realized that.

Understandable. I think the focus originally WAS on Champ geneology.
