Re: Augustinians and War
That's really awful and I'm sorry to see that. This happened to be a "progressive" / liberal leaning institution. I hope we can learn from that this abusers do not limit themselves to conservative, liberal, progressive, religious, or non-religious circles.

I would consider it more as sheep who go astray. No matter who it is or what Christian group they are attached to but for the grace of God, there go I. But we have a great Saviour that when we truly repent, He forgives us our sins.silentreader wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 3:13 pm [
I wasn't aware how far this had gone....

Just another wolf in sheep's clothing joining the list, it seems.
I believe Satan especially focuses his efforts on some of the best Bible teachers there are and any of them can fall. Scripture says not to think we are above falling as we all can if we do not guard our hearts. I hope and pray that Bruxy and others don't give up but repent and learn from their mistakes.

It's probably a bit more serious than that if it was someone who claimed to be a shepherd. The consequences of that appear to be significant if not cataclysmic for those who followed him.Sudsy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 6:16 pmI would consider it more as sheep who go astray. Re: Augustinians and War
It could be for those who have put their faith in man and not in God, first and foremost. There likely is a falling away by those who trust in man when these things occur. I wonder how many left their faith in God over John Howard Yoder's fall or Jimmy Swaggert or so many other well known Bible teachers. I have my preferred Bible teachers but I don't know what sins they may be covering up and may never know.silentreader wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 7:06 pmIt's probably a bit more serious than that if it was someone who claimed to be a shepherd.
