Right. Basic reference works tell you that Ukranian is a language, Ukraine is a country and has been for a long time, and Stalin was Georgian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Stalin
Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin (born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili; 18 December [O.S. 6 December] 1878 – 5 March 1953) was a Georgian revolutionary and Soviet political leader who governed the Soviet Union from 1922 until his death in 1953. He held power as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (1922–1952) and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union (1941–1953). Initially governing the country as part of a collective leadership, he consolidated power to become dictator by the 1930s. Ideologically adhering to the Leninist interpretation of Marxism, he formalised these ideas as Marxism-Leninism, while his own policies are called Stalinism.
Well the Ukraine was controlled by Russia, as a state of Russia, for several hundred years? No?
The Russian Empire controlled 'the Ukraine" for approximately 125 years (1793 - 1917).

The politburo actually had real power and engaged in real substantive policy debates compared to today's Duma which simply rubber stamps whatever Putin says. The period of Stalin was an exception. But during the time of Brezhnev and Gorbachev the politburo had real power.
... are you saying the USSR wasn't centred around a "cult of personality" of Lenin and later Stalin?

And the Russian Empire controlled Finland from 1809–1917. Is someone suggesting that Russia should restore the Russian Empire? Well, yes, Putin said pretty much that in his speech, but does anyone want to say that Ukraine and Finland have no right to object?

Is this only for Russia, or should all great empires from that time be restored to their former boundaries?

Russia is the place that has heavy censorship for Russian opinions. In the United States, you don't get thrown in jail for saying Russia is at war. Outside of Russia, an awful lot of Russians disagree with Putin.

Here's one good place to hear Russian voices:

And they have pointers to lots of other Russian voices ...
Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian authorities have imposed military censorship in all but name, annihilating the entire domestic free press. Within a week of Moscow’s “special operation in the Donbas,” the television station Dozhd and radio station Ekho Moskvy both shut down, ending 12 and 32 years, respectively, of independent journalism. In late March, after a 28-year run, the newspaper Novaya Gazeta suspended all reporting until the end of the war, citing warnings from the federal censor. Many of the journalists who worked for these outlets have already fled Russia, but they continue their work at new platforms, on their own channels at YouTube, Telegram, and elsewhere. Here are a few of the most prominent startups and offshoots.

Boot, I'm not looking for Russians who are saying war is bad, I'm looking for official battle propaganda claims and reports to contrast them with our own official propaganda.

The BBC is tracking actual Russian casualty claims. Here is a twitter thread that does a deep dive into these reports. Apparently they aren't putting out official reports in English anyway so you need a site like the BBC to consolidate them and translate them.

So over in Russia they would recognize that possibly a majority of Americans do not agree with Biden administration according to his approval ratings.

Does that give Russia the right to invade the United States and "liberate" us?

Who decides right? Perhaps they would be justified to liberate the United States and give it back to the original owners.
