Female students assaulted by transgender students in bathroom

1. The quotes by Obama and McAulliffe are out of context and not in response to this article or event.
Well, that certainly doesn't do The Gateway Pundit any credit.
2. The events happened before the school district had any sort of “bathroom policy”
According to a Fox News report, "... a male student in a skirt allegedly assaulted a female student in a girls' bathroom – while the board was considering a controversial transgender rule."

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnew ... r-race.amp
What does the word “considering” mean? Does it mean that the policy was in effect during the assault? The assault was reported in May, the policy wasn’t implemented until August. This student didn’t rely on a trans-inclusive bathroom policy to assault another student.
School boards are administrative bodies that follow Roberts Rules of Order. Normally when they implement any sort of substantive new policy they will provide the public with notice that they are taking up the issue at some future meeting "put it on the agenda" then they will likely request that district staff prepare some sort of report or presentation on the topic analyzing the pros and cons and various "alternatives" and probably ask their staff or attorneys to come up with proposed language that can be presented to the public for comment. At some future meeting for which this topic is on the agenda they will receive the whatever reports and analysis was prepared and public comment on the topic. They might at that point vote up or down on the issue, or they might defer the decision until some subsequent meeting if they want to analyze or get comment on any different alternatives or changes to the language before taking a final vote. If they decide to make any substantive changes to the proposed language they start the process all over again. Bureaucracies move slowly and the whole process can take months and months or indefinite amounts of time if something gets tabled without reaching a final up or down vote.

Every state has comprehensive open meetings laws that set out all this sort of required administrative process and any school board that didn't follow them to the letter would be vulnerable to getting sued and having a judge through out whatever policy it is that they decided on.

So in this case, the fact that the issue was on the school board's agenda meant that it was a policy which they were analyzing and getting written or oral public comment on at some point in the future, but for which they had not yet made any final decision. So it was not in effect.

Ken wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 12:42 pm I have no idea what the school and school district actually did and neither do you.

All I am saying is that a one-off example that may not actually be as described in the media should probably not be used as the basis for setting policy in a country of 300 million.

To use another example to make the point, we have had over 500 children die of Covid since the epidemic began and clinical trials have shown the Covid vaccines to be highly effective at preventing Covid in children. Should we, therefore, use these instances of childhood Covid deaths to set national policy and mandate the Covid vaccine for all children in the US? You are arguing for national policy around transgender bathroom use based on evidence that is orders of magnitude flimsier than that.
Following the logic being argued here and considering the epidemic of sexual abuse in churches, I suppose someone could also argue that we should ban churches in order to protect girls and boys from sexual abuse. Maybe we should clean our own houses first before we attack others.
If my church had a male pervert assault a girl in the women’s restroom at church, yeah, I’d do something about it.

Yes, we all know that is what the Gatewaypundit is reporting. And we also know that some aspects of that narrative have been debunked or are untrue. So this is probably not the right case upon which to base any changes in policy on a state-wide or national basis.

What part of this has been debunked?
None of it has; the school board issued an apology and the cross dresser/transsexual is facing charges from the police.

Ken is just making stuff up.

The Washington Post is busy assassinating the character of the young lady in question, repeating unverified rumours that she engaged in trysts in the past in the restroom. Apparently, they believe in “blame the victim”.

You liberals told us we were paranoid when we raised concerns transsexuals in women’s rooms would lead to assaults.

Now, it’s obvious it’s happening, and your answer is that the no big deal.

I never told you anything. And it isn't obvious that anything is "happening"

So far we have one example of one sexual predator may or may not be transgender (as that hasn't even been established yet) who raped one girl in a bathroom and another girl in a classroom. Based on what has been reported so far, there isn't any evidence that this even has anything at all to do with transgender bathroom rules. Sexual assault is a problem in schools across the country. But there is zero evidence that transgender kids represent any sort risk. To the contrary. The vast majority of sexual assaults of high school students are committed by ordinary heterosexual HS males, usually fueled by alcohol.

Stop denying the person involved is trans. There is a mountain of evidence he is (including his own statement where he claims it was consensual) and zero he is not.

He has now been found guilty in a court of law as I understand it. The reason you do not see this across mainstream media is because it goes against the narrative they have been preaching over the last 5 years. I do not find that surprising but it should disturb all of us.
That some of you are trying to make this as no big deal? I guess I find that not only surprising but very disturbing.

What are you even talking about? It’s been reported all along once the story broke that the school reported the student to the police and that the police charged him.

Here’s the story from yesterday in The Washington Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/pu ... story.html
In a case that has generated a political firestorm, a Virginia juvenile court judge found sufficient evidence during a trial Monday to sustain charges that a teen sexually assaulted a classmate in the girls’ bathroom of a Loudoun County high school in May.

The teenager, now 15, is also charged with the sexual assault of another student that occurred months later at a different Loudoun school. Loudoun County juvenile court Chief Judge Pamela L. Brooks said she would wait to sentence the teen until that case is decided in November.

The judge’s finding is the juvenile court equivalent of a guilty verdict in other courts.
So yes, this is being reported in the mainstream media.

Furthermore, from the victim’s own testimony, this doesn’t sound like a case where the perpetrator snuck into the bathroom to rape her, but that they had arranged to meet there.
During the hearing, the 15-year-old victim in the first case testified she had consensual sexual encounters with the defendant on two occasions in a girls’ bathroom at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn. On May 28, she said, the two arranged to meet again and the youth threw her to the floor and forced her to perform sex acts.
What the victim describes is rape, even if she had sex with the perpetrator before. My contention is that a “trans-inclusive” bathroom policy that wasn’t even in place when this assault happened had anything to do with this sexual assault. I think that people are opportunistically manipulating this story to fit their own narrative.

From WTOP:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/wtop.com/l ... hroom/amp/
During opening statements of the two-hour hearing in Loudoun County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, prosecutor Barry Zweig said the two teens chatted daily on the Discord app, in the weeks leading up to the May 28, 2021, incident at Stone Bridge High School, in Ashburn.

The teens had “sexually charged conversations,” and had engaged in consensual sexual relations twice in weeks prior, in a bathroom at the school.

On May 28, the boy texted the girl and asked her to meet him in the girls bathroom, and she agreed. However, during that encounter, he forced himself on her, without her consent.
The young victim described her relationship with the boy as “just friends,” but said she “hooked up” with him, twice in the two weeks before the assault.

During cross-examination by defense attorney William Mann, the girl acknowledged she hadn’t told investigators initially about the consensual encounters.

From the witness stand, she was asked several times by Zweig, who was assisted by Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj, whether she gave permission or consent for the sexual act on May 28.

“Never,” she responded.
It is not unusual for victims of assault to know their attackers. It’s also not unusual for them to have had sexual relations before the assault. Even if the victim had sex with the rapist before, it’s still rape. These situations are frequently really messy.

If you want to argue that gender inclusive bathrooms will lead to “female students assaulted by transgender students,” this isn’t the story to do it with.
