Wayne said it more strongly than I would have, as he is wont to do. But he's right. Thank you, Wayne.

I still have a bit of that curmudgeonliness in me, I just try to use it sparingly and to good effect.

Having been the subject from time to time of that curmudgeonliness, I can attest to its effectiveness. Wayne was once described to me as the "bad cop" to DanZ's "good cop."Wayne in Maine wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 4:50 pmI still have a bit of that curmudgeonliness in me, I just try to use it sparingly and to good effect.

Re: Righteous Anger & Covid 19
Well, had my break from posting in this forum but looking at this thread, I do have a view. Well, perhaps more so my father's view.Valerie wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 6:16 am What do you do with righteous anger?
What do you do when you know that thousands upon thousands of lives could have been prevented from death but a power was in place to keep that from happening.
Apart from the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this is probably one of the most important messages I've ever watched or listened to--this is the doctor who recently won the Nobel Peace prize for his treatment of covid-19 and now the world is paying attention but it's too late for those lives that could have been saved
I'm not sure I know when 'righteous anger' is something we should have and if so, how we believe a Christian should respond. Regarding any form of vengeance scripture says to leave this in God's hands. He will handle the consequences of what man does and does not do.
From an eternal perspective, I believe, our mission remains the same regardless of who might be making wrong decisions affecting other's temporal lives here. People die every day throughout the world due to man's involvement with life just as people have their lives extended every day by various cures man has developed. Our mission is not to be angry about what sin is doing unless it is a kind of motivation to share the Gospel with more people. This life is but a fleeting vapor. I believe the scriptures point us to having an eternal perspective.
Look at Jesus. Did He get all righteously angry with the slavery system in those days ? But He did get angry with phony religion and self righteous hypocrisy. Perhaps this is where I should be spending my time observing my own life. That two by four in my own eye.
Scripture tells us not to be anxious about anything. God sees and is allowing all this to play out for His purposes and in His timing. We just need to trust Him.
So, does it matter what the world thinks and is presenting as facts or not ? I don't think it does. My life is not run by what the world thinks.
Anyway, souls are dying every day with or without man's involvement in saving temporal life. This post would be something I think my father would tell me so I am passing it on as his perspective that kept him daily involved in mission work.

Re: Righteous Anger & Covid 19
I think there are things worth getting angry about — anger can be a good emotion, especially if it spurs us to action. But anger can also be addictive and the problem with righteous anger is that it can feel good with all those endorphins raging around in your system. Righteous anger can become self-righteous anger.

Re: Righteous Anger & Covid 19
Of course it won't, but pseudoscience now exists on all sides, including in the schizophrenic advice for the public (February? Go to Chinatown and eat out. Don't wear a mask. June? Stop eating out, it's dangerous! You must wear a mask. May? Well, you can stop wearing a mask IF you get this experimental vaccine first.)Wayne in Maine wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 3:14 pm I do believe there is reason to be righteously angry at how many segments of the government have responded to this pandemic. But this pandemic is real. Pseudo-science will not resurrect the people who did not have to dies of this disease if people had behaved responsibly and not bought into Satan's lies (Yes, I said it - this is nothing but witchcraft and worldly, satanic lies!)
Actually lots of us present were not "ethnic Anabaptists" (although I suppose I should be flattered for being mistaken for such, as at one time I probably wished to be).the response of the assembled "ethnic Anabaptists" and their conspiracy-minded associates. Instead of consideration for their neighbors, known and unknown, who were vulnerable to this diseases they only cared about themselves and their "freedom".
I think comparing attendance at AIC to building arms is utterly absurd.Unknown to them, a lot of Mennonites have contributed to these deaths, like their labors did in in factories producing war materials contributed to the deaths of German and Japanese soldiers and civilians on the second great war.

I don't enjoy anger. At all.
Ephesians 4:26 says "be angry & do not din".
Being made in our heavenly father's image as we are we have all the same emotions that he has so we don't need to dismiss the fact that we can get angry. What we get angry about maybe a different story.
Of course I don't advocate vengeance that is left up to our Father, & of course he uses people very often to carry that out that's why we have civil government when evil people do things such as dismissing and censoring doctors that could have saved lives.

Well you're revealing why you shouldn't participate in this discussion.Bootstrap wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 8:48 amNo, I have a problem with doctors who make wild claims on Youtube but cannot back them with evidence. So did the Orthodox Jewish community that Zelenko was part of, that's why they threw him out. I have problems with the political polarization of everything. I have problems with dethroning evidence in favor of emotion.
The strength of your emotion is not scientific evidence. Medicine has standards for evidence, rules for how clinical trials are done. Youtube does not.
Silenced? Not hardly. They have gotten a lot of air time in certain political circles. But the medical community relies on the evidence.

Re: Righteous Anger & Covid 19
The whole point of so many of the doctors who had 0% deaths of the patients that they cared for for their treatments for Covid that were silenced (and there are a lot of them out there) could have kept this from being the pandemic that it became. I will listen to the doctors who have success. I've known myriads of people that have had covid and so many of them barely had any symptoms I work with the public and I'm surrounded by employees 5 days a week I work the entire pandemic only one of the people at my workplace went to the hospital because she was diabetic and has other big health issues -she survived and back to work working hard. I've also had people tell me that their reaction to the shot, because it's not an "approved"vaccine, (that's why they recommend people still wear the masks and that's why people are still getting covid who got the shot)was worse than when they actually had the covid. We build up our immune system naturally and half for years and don't catch what's going around I think they should make it mandatory that people take better care of their systems with what God gave us to help our God created immune system-having been surrounded by people at work that had covid and customers and you name it, thank the Lord I haven't caught it but if I did I know which doctors I would turn to and avoid the hospital.Wayne in Maine wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 3:14 pm I do believe there is reason to be righteously angry at how many segments of the government have responded to this pandemic. Covid is a real disease that really kills people. Mose Stoltzfoos, who is famous as one of the founders of the Charity movement, died of this disease. Given my undiagnosed "co-morbidity" condition back in January I might be dead now if I had attended the "Anabaptist Identity Conference" where hoaxes such as Valerie is peddling were the response of the assembled "ethnic Anabaptists" and their conspiracy-minded associates. Instead of consideration for their neighbors, known and unknown, who were vulnerable to this diseases they only cared about themselves and their "freedom". Unknown to them, a lot of Mennonites have contributed to these deaths, like their labors did in in factories producing war materials contributed to the deaths of German and Japanese soldiers and civilians on the second great war.
I thank God for the opportunity to see who are the sheep and who are the goats in the response of "Christians" to this deadly pandemic.
