To the contrary. I have great regard for you and everyone else willing to come express their opinions in public. I expect you would quickly get bored here too if this place was just an echo chamber of your own opinions. I know I would be.temporal1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 2:07 pm you have no regard for me, you describe personal amusement at those on this forum who see things differently from you. how nice for you. this is your right. do enjoy yourself.
i defer to Mark Robinson, Robert, Thomas Sowell, and many many others who dare to step away from the prevailing script.
for myself and my family, for everyone on this forum, and for most overall, violent physical harm or violent death is much more likely to come from misuse of smartphones while driving, bicycling, walking, etc., than gun violence. as Robert briefly noted above, there are several causes of death that outnumber gun violence. crickets.
That doesn't mean I agree with the notion that there is something wrong pushing for common sense gun laws or enforcing them if passed. And especially with the notion that there is something "troubling" about Christians pushing for measures to reduce the tsunami of weapons plaguing our society.
As for cell phones? I agree entirely with the dangers posed by cell phones and driving. I'm not convinced, however that cell phone-using pedestrians are a deadly plague. Although cell phone selfie-related deaths seems to be on the rise, especially in India and Russia.

Still, only 256 people have reportedly died from taking selfies worldwide. The worldwide death toll due to firearms is over 250,000 per year of which the US accounts for almost 40,000.
