Here is one of your condescending comments. You said you wanted details. Here is one.

This information has just been found through courts forcing ballets to be released for validation. If this is true, it should be investigated. This would clearly be fraud. I care that fraud is found and stopped. Anyone who wants a strong democracy would want that too. Democracy DOESN'T work if there is fraud.

And the tactic of attacking the messenger instead of the message has, again, been played.

Here, again, direction from the forum’s admin/owner is refuted and ignored, with divisive language and escalation of tribal warfare. In the vast majority of cases, members here accept leadership direction, often apologizing, then moving on in the spirit of learning, and learning to do better.

Very rarely has any member been blocked, most have voluntarily respected admin/mods.

Doing otherwise is simply mirroring the world’s present partisan politics, it damages this forum.
Robert leads this forum with a vastly more interactive approach than Hans did with MD. Hans was typically not available to help mods, or comment on anything.

i don’t believe tribe-building against leadership is a good path. But it is the popular method in secular partisan politics.

opinions. never a shortage, eh?
i hesitate to add this. :-|

in the past, mod justme sometimes would request 3rd parties refrain, i think, esp when admin+mods involve themselves, which is NOT overly frequently on this forum. i agree with this. it’s important to respect leadership, often a thankless job.

in our families, does every child have an equal or greater voice than father/parents? if so, i’m sorry for those families.
someone has to lead. no leadership is perfect, so, sometimes, imperfection happens.

it’s damaging to families when decisions become popularity contests, or by purely democratic vote. that’s mob rule.
in a family with 2 parents and 7 children, democratic votes will ensure chocolate cake instead of dinner, every night.

on this forum, when most receive “direction” or scolding from mods - they don’t call for a vote / others’ opinions.
it’s harmful to the health of the forum. it’s divisive. (i’m NOT suggesting harm is intentional.)

my first suggestion is to abide by justme’s request to let admin+mods do their jobs: refrain from adding opinions (on open forum).
second, when admin+mods speak, don’t auto-default to calling for others’ public opinions. this is an effective way of undermining leadership.

(i see) the dynamics much as a family situation, or church situation.
for reasonable function, popular or not, chosen or appointed leadership must be allowed to do their jobs.

i’m not sure, but i think i recall some reference to these things in the past, maybe probably by Robert, when MN was in early stages? possibly some of those early threads have been archived? i don’t know.

 i don’t think i’m suggesting anything new here. just trying to recall Robert’s early MN framework. :)
In my meager observation, no member has been more “in your face” defiant against Robert.
And, no one has received more caring response, time, effort, patience, tolerance, than boot. Years of it. Entire threads have been created by Robert to interact with boot. Who has received such personal attention, tolerance, and investment?

This is my personal outside perspective.

i expected bunny trails. :)

This time, it’s not the liberals who are trying to control what’s being taught in the classroom, it’s the “freedom-loving” conservatives who are pushing legislation in order to dictate and impose an ideological perspective onto teachers. The fear-mongering about CRT is just an excuse to push a different ideological perspective.

 Actual CRT isn’t taught in high schools or even on the undergrad college level. It’s usually grad-level work.
Same with Foucault and Derrida.
Don’t be coy.

Your hostility and cynicism on this forum suggest serious problems with clinical depression. It’s a tough path. I hope you seek counseling. I feel sorry for those close to you, depression takes a broad toll.

Visiting a forum principally to criticize members, in desperate attempt to elevate oneself isn’t much of a hobby. You are hurting yourself more than any.

More generally, this topic reflects why home schools and private schools are thriving.

Pray for everyone’s children.

I’ve ignored most of your hostile bites and jabs towards me.
Now you’re lecturing me about my profession and literally gaslighting me by calling me crazy. Please take the plank out of your own eye.

Did you miss all the other times threads were started with the OP requesting certain parameters for the discussion? This is nothing new at all.
In some cases it is understandable, for instance the thread started about the "Janitors" this morning. But when someone consistently and repeatedly starts threads about politics etc. and then disallows differing opinions and thoughts, it reveals so much about the individual. And I will admit to a failure on my part. I was never good at catering to fragile, narcissistic, controlling egos of some conservative Mennonite men. Thankfully there aren't many, but it isn't hard to spot them. But I suppose that would be a whole other topic.

That’s your opinion. We could sit here and argue all day about who’s right or wrong.
Yes, we could sit here and argue all day, but this opinion has been shared often with you by many people over the last number of years. This includes people who initially appreciated your contributions.
Over the years, there has been more and more commentary and stating of facts on matters where you have limited information.
MN allows freedom of speech (mostly) so a person does not need to be an expert in order to share commentary. However, if a person wants to be taken seriously, he needs to only share on matters he understands well, and present all other opinions as an assumption instead of a fact.

for some, adjusting to the loss of Wayne is quieting.

along with prayers for Betty, Franzi, the rest of his family, loved ones.
for these, the hardest part has just begun. they will need all the strength and courage and faith he led for them.
i called it “the horrifying silence.” the long hard slog. God be with them.

I think you're right. I had another poll to roll out and I just don't have it in me at the moment. This really floored me when I read about it this morning. He was posting on social media up Friday, IIRC.

Many people of the world are trusting the COVID vaccine as their saviour and that goes right along with trusting man and science over God.

The more you continue to focus on bad behaviour and go along with supporting the ways of the world the more you loose any way to share Christ the real Saviour with the world.

I think we can comply to a degree with mandates but still share the hope of Christ - I get no impression that any of you three are doing that...
I have not gotten the vaccine and have not encouraged anyone to either get vaccinated or not get vaccinated. (other than my wife and one old man in our church who asked what I recommend they do)

Can you say more about what makes you think we are not doing, what you think we should be doing?

Maybe I should go back and read the article about exceptionalism but if I recall correctly it seemed quite reactionary, or at least encouraged a pull back and forth with reacting one way with focus on the poor actions of others. This is just doesn't seem to fit with a non-resistant kingdom focused perspective - but again since I don't see the bad behaviours but the reactionism on MN my view is probably greatly skewed.
