The odds are if we eat better, we are healthier. Diabetes type 2 and heart disease are largely driven by diet and lifestyle, or so says the science.RZehr wrote:I’d not assume that good health, and abundant life, are always one and the same. May be some correlation but not causation.
I do not want to sound like a Covid denier. I am not. I accept it as one of the virii that we do have to work with and around. It has very negative affects on the elderly. Less then flu like affects on the young. It does affect younger, but percentages are showing it is not as deadly to people under 65.
Shutting down the economy for everyone to protect the elderly means we take abundant life from all and add it to those over 70. While this is a kind act for those over 70, It is harmful to all others. If we were a more agrarian society, this would be easier to do. We would each just work our own farms and all would be well. We are not. We are very interconnected. So shutting down the economy, making everyone more setitary and diets often times worse, not speaking of the emotional toil and spiritual strains it puts on us. God created us to be communal. We are fighting our natural state that we are created for.
Masking hides facial expression. This means the natural way we communicate is hidden. It is proven that even infants use facial cues for understanding others. Even adults use it often more than words. It is how we pick up tones and body language. Removing that causes a breakdown on community and communication. These are neural pathways in the brain that are getting rewired and will have, sometimes, life long repercussions.
All this to save .05% of those over 65. Once again, we are looking to the immediate fix and ignoring the long term consequences to the larger society, just like our dietary practices. Event he elderly are suffering, sometimes more than others, from the isolation.
2 Timothy 2:7(ESV) for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
