You should probably ask Grace. She does appear to spend a lot of time there.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 3:27 pmCan we trust what the folks in the Politics group are seeing? I dont read political subforum as much, but Grace is also another person i have the impression supported trump, but her previous comment talks about her “accused of being a trump supporter”. I think this accusation comes from supporting/defending trump in the politics subforum.
Before i posted that I havent looked at Grace’s posts much, I went to her account and the most active subforum she is on is Politics… i skimmed about the last 5 pages of her posts in politics and its all bashing democrats and talking about the good Trump has done…

There is a saying:You should probably ask Grace. She does appear to spend a lot of time there.

Grace, I think that Anthony’s observation that you post a lot in defense of Trump is understandable. I’ve certainly read a lot these posts myself over the years.Grace wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 4:18 pmI dont read political subforum as much, but Grace is also another person i have the impression supported trump, but her previous comment talks about her “accused of being a trump supporter”. I’m curious. What about the label “Trump supporter” feels inaccurate or unfair to you?

Incredible that many people have strong opinions on what goes on in politics subforum, but literally do not have access to it or do not know of its existence… theres two different Mennonets it seems lol. The walled politics section seems to of worked too well.
I guess for anyone who doesnt know this: There is an entire subforum called Politics which is blocked off to guests and regular users, you have to go into your profile and request access and ask to join. If you were not aware, literally 30%
- 50% of all content on a daily basis on MN is taking place on that subforum with JohnH, bootstrap, sdzfan, me, and others posting consistently and talking/arguing about current political events. This is the context of the entire thread and the accusations of denouncing trump.

Re: Demands to Denounce
I have said many times there are things about him I cannot support. I have said that repeatedly, but I get it, it is all or nothing. If someone doesn't denounce everything he does, they are stereotyped as his supporter. Which is inaccurate.

Yes, and the forum didn't used to be this way. It got tiresome to have politics dominate so many discussions, so first a separate politics subforum was made. Then it was made opt out so people who didn't want to see it didn't have to see it. Then it was made opt in, so that newcomers wouldn't face a solid wall of endless political discussion.Anthony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 7:47 pm Incredible that many people have strong opinions on what goes on in politics subforum, but literally do not have access to it or do not know of its existence… theres two different Mennonets it seems lol. I eventually opted in simply because I got tired of other non-political threads being derailed by people who wanted to bring up their dislike of Trump in some way, and pretend that's a non-political opinion and try to pollute the non-politics thread. So I joined so that the political discussion can simply stay there, and I can do my part to "herd" it over there. I consider it a job similar to my duties to occasionally muck out my chicken barn.

I don't think it is so much the all or nothing, Grace, as the fact that predictably for quite some time, ( not so much any more) , anytime anything critical was said of trump, you would chime in with "but biden...". Like i said, you don't do that nearly as much anymore.

And JohnH, if it is that distasteful to talk politics, well, there are other options besides mucking out the chicken barn.
