Today .. St Patrick’s Day

Growing up, altho this was a fun day in public schools, my parents told me to ignore, not wear green, not being Irish or Catholic.
i thot this was a drag. it was fun. and, green.

Well, i recently found Irish (Quakers) and some early Catholics in our ancestry, so, i allow myself to smile on St Patrick’s Day. :P

Today, Jess77 posted! i wonder if she’s still clogging? :)

When my grdaughter was younger, she liked Shaun the Sheep.
We would sometimes watch it while working on embroidery, knitting, other projects.
(her mother disliked S the S, so this was a fun thing we did when mommy was elsewhere.)

Plus! i always liked corned beef+cabbage.

Honduras Keiser’s thread has valuable references to St Patrick’s Day without the secular.

Today .. on my walk ..
i’m seeing neighborhood children out playing, bicycles, running, chasing, all kinds of activities. :D
mostly boys, i think. they smile and wave as they fly-by.

one little girl, 9, has stopped to chat a little.
she asked, “when did i first meet you?” i told her i think she was 5, with her grandpa, she stopped and wanted to pick black-eyed susans one summer. she didn’t remember. now she’s 9, has a little independence. she reminds me of my grdaughter.

Today .. dr visit, diabetes check.

i’ve been anxious about it, but, my lab results show A1c at 7.5, which my prior doctor wanted for me.
i’ve read it “should be” a little lower, but she wanted mine a bit higher than recommended, due to age, and wanting me to avoid low blood sugar! so, here we are. (i’m not sure about my new dr’s view on this.) he’s very different. learning curve.

i had a moment of low blood sugar last summer: 4.5 or something. i was alone, driving.
it was NOT fun. so, i am adequately forewarned!

Well the doctors seem to keep moving the goal post on A1C targets. For me it was that 7.5 was good (they were very happy when I got it down to 7 from 11!), then they changed their minds and 6.5 was the goal. My present nurse practitioner is rather laid back and happy for me to be around 7-7.5. Blood pressure is another fluctuating goal it seems...

Just made a trip to Indiana to get all our junk. I think that is a good description of it. While I was gone, wife found another house on 5 acres. Seems we may get it and flip the house we are in now. Seems yet another move is on the books. This is a local one, but I could not get everything in the truck this last trip, so one more trip to Indiana may be getting planned.

Got in yesterday and got the truck half unloaded. Should finish unloading today.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.
I think I am funnier than I really am.
