Evangelism Not a Priority in Canadian Churches - https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/ ... study.html
Today, according to the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada’s quadrennial census, only 6 percent of Canadians are evangelical. These are the lowest numbers on record.
Another quote from this article regarding having more of an inward than outward focus -
“There’s a sense I need to keep my own fences mended and stay strong.”
Interesting article and talks about how COVID-19 has had it's impact.

How has COVID-19 impacted your church's outreach ? Has it had any impact ? Any thoughts regarding evangelism today and/or this report ?

Quite negatively in terms of outreach. We just couldn’t do the things we normally did for the last 2 years. Particularly in Canada, distributing tracts basically became impossible. Young people don’t go sing in nursing homes or sing on the streets & pass out tracts anymore.

In terms of local attendance, covid shutdowns did mean more people randomly attended our church since it reopened sooner than others.

I am posting this video for the story int he second half of it. I advanced it to this point. If you go back, there is some crude messaging on a truck so please excuse that if you go to the beginning. You can watch it from the point I have it posted and miss that.

I am not sure what to think about this. Regarding taking most if not all drugs there are risks. I can have empathy for this situation but any portraying of evil towards the Prime Minister is not what Christians are about, imo. These are days of difficult decisions in trying to deal with this pandemic. And most people do follow the science in many areas as long as it doesn't interfere with their life style.

To some extent I believe we have had it so good here in Canada that many struggle with how to respond when these good times are threatened. We really don't know too much about what hard times mean compared to many other places in this world.

I would think Anabaptists would be far from supporting and participating in this action taken by the truckers other than helping people to survive during this time and using this opportunity to point people to the Lord.

I'm curious as to what these news clips are intended for. I can get these through various media sources as stand alone clips. What should these things mean to a Kingdom citizen ? Is there something we should be doing ? This clip ends with the person saying this action is bringing them 'hope'. We do believe in 'hope' but 'hope' that is a blessed assurance that Jesus is mine'.

YMMV and I may not be understanding this rightly so feel free to give me guidance, anyone. Thankyou.

I realize others have a more warring approach as to how they resist ..

i don’t see any difference in what these truckers are doing (with resources they have available) and your approach on your personal computer, and what you describe that you do in your circles.

they have decided to address their public servants, to let them hear actual voices (the public servants) claim to represent.
they are convinced.

you address individuals and faith groups as a whole, to let them know how you believe Christianity works.
you are convinced.

We are assured: Jesus will sort it out. :D
In scriptures, i think the one message we can be certain of is, there will be lots of surprises about His view.
i expect to be perfectly humbled. in the best ways. in flawless ways beyond my limited imagination. one of the multitude.

Acts 4:32
Isaiah 29:5
Rev 7:9
Rev 19:1
Matthew 23:1
Deut 1:10

This topic is about things that are happening in Canada, your good message is about forgetting about Canada, leaving the world, following Jesus. A good message. Not exactly what this thread is about. (This category is not specific to Anabaptists.)
It’s that rebellious nature of humans. Rebelling against rebellers.

The truckers have gone to Ottawa with a petition to be allowed to work.

So far, the prime minister has gone into hiding. Not really the right response.

I see nothing wrong with taking action to ensure you can have a job to feed yourself and your family.

Josh wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 5:34 pm Some (including myself) argue that the Christian should refrain from social media and avoid being photographed or using photography. Doing so would do quite well to keep one from legal trouble in such a case.

So would not attending political protests like BLM marches, the 1/6 protest, etc. regardless of how much you may sympathise with the cause. A Christian does not belong at such a protest.
Can you explain how you see these things differently?
