Teenagers experiment with all kinds of new identities when growing up.
Teenagers did not used to "experiment" with pretending to the opposite sex. That is an entirely novel phenomenon.
Sure they have. Every form of unconventional gender expression is as old as time itself in virtually every culture in the world. It has just been much more clandestine in the past because people weren’t safe to be public about it.
Really? Gender Fae is as old as time itself?

Sure. People invent new names for things. But there is really nothing new under the sun. Human desires and human nature hasn’t changed. Are you trying to argue that there’s been some rapid evolution of humanity in recent years? Evolution doesn’t happen that fast. We are basically the same people we were 2000 years ago.

State of WA / Gender-Inclusive Schools
https://ospi.k12.wa.us/policy-funding/e ... ve-schools
.. Focus on Student-Centered Planning and Communication
Planning with the Student.
Working with the student to co-develop shared expectations about the various aspects of a transgender student’s school experience can be extremely helpful for all involved. These shared expectations can be documented in a gender support or transition plan, which can help guide deeper conversations about topics such as parent/guardian communication and involvement, restroom and locker room use, names and pronouns, and participation in other school and extracurricular activities.

A sample Gender Support Plan and Gender Transition Plan(link is external) can be found in the
Schools in Transition: A Guide for Supporting Transgender Students in K-12 Schools (link is external).

Although this resource was not developed by OSPI and was written to comport with federal law, not Washington law (which offers greater protections for transgender and gender-expansive students), it can still serve as a valuable reference for Washington educators, families, and students.

OSPI has also curated a number of other resources and guides for educators on how to facilitate conversations with students about gender identity. These resources and guides are available on OSPI’s Sexual Health Education webpage (scroll to “Support for LGBTQ Students”).

Communicating with families.
Sometimes, transgender students may not want their families to know that they are transgender or that they use a different name, pronouns, and gender designation at school. Often, this is because they are concerned about a lack of familial acceptance and the resulting impact on their safety and wellbeing at home.

It can be a challenging situation for all involved when families and students are not on the same page about the student’s gender identity or transition. However, in Washington, the right to be treated consistent with one’s gender identity at school belongs to the student.

In order to protect the student’s health, safety, and privacy, schools are strongly encouraged to ask the student which name, pronouns, and gender designation should be used when communicating with parents and guardians before such communications take place, in order avoid unintentionally outing the student at home.

The Schools in Transition(link is external) guide includes best practices and strategies for communicating with families
and working with parents and guardians who may not be supportive ..

My understanding is, gov ed AND healthcare providers are “coordinated” under law, thus, teachers-schools refer to affected healthcare providers, who, likewise, now have EARLY privacy laws, that is, your young child must sign an “ok” for his parent to access medical records, doctors, etc. [As-if a minor has the knowledge, maturity, to understand the concept of legal access, privacy laws, etc.]

Thus, teachers might honestly say, “We do not do this in school,” without saying, “We refer to healthcare professionals who do.”

These laws pertain to all children-parents, not just in cases of suspected abuse or crimes.

Subject line: “CULTURAL SEPARATION FROM PARENTS”

When our son was in COLLEGE, there were times i went with him to doctor appointments, no questions asked, no requests, explanations, apologies. Not on the radar. He was on our health ins plan, a non-issue.

Today, the presumption is that parents are criminals.

i was just with my daughter+grdaughter, 15, for her athletic physical. Her mother had written permission to be with her,
i waited in the lobby. When she was younger, i sometimes took her for exams, spoke with this same doctor, no questions asked.
Her doctor was, himself, raised by his grandparents, was super-appreciative i was present!

Families should be encouraged and valued.

Be aware of wording bias wrt this map.
Many states (in red) protect minors from making premature decisions.

“Children are not small adults.”
They enjoy special protections, and do not have adult rights, privileges, responsibilities, for good reason.

“WAITING” is not a dirty word.

Common decency prohibited all description sexual/carnal matters from public places, including schools.
Learning self-restraint is part+parcel of healthy+normal+desirable human development.

Humans expect to be above barnyard animals in our interactions, learning begins at tender ages.

If you read the Clark County WA report, link just above, you will get an idea how much “acting out” of unwanted sexual aggression is happening in “good” gov schools. So much so, students are taught how to report what they witness! “Bystander training.”
What depravity.

Thing is, it’s not taken into account, that young witnesses are TRAUMATIZED by these “visions.”
They are too young. Yet, expected to deal with it in schools, where they are captive and should be protected+safe.

ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 8:58 pm There's a school district not real far from here that has a policy specifically stating that, if the parents of a child do not support their "gender transition", school staff should provide the student with information and referrals to resources that will support them in changing their gender identity, regardless of what the student's parents say.

Notably absent is any kind of policy requiring such referrals for Eduardo if his parents forbid him to go by the nickname Ed.
Correct. A double-whammy, schools+healthcare legally coordinated/hogtied to shut parents out.
Yet - no problem for parents to pay all the bills, provide insurances, food, shelter, clothing, take responsibility when things go wrong!
No problem, and no escaping.

There is no such thing as a secondary diploma or secondary transcript. Or "frozen records" that I am aware of. At least not around here. There is only one set of records per student and it reflects the student's legal name and gender. If you want to change that, you need to go through the normal legal name change process with the state first.
In Fairfax County, VA there is. If a transgender student asks for a second transcript with their "assumed" name the school will provide it. Legal name change not required.
OK, not something I’ve ever heard of before. They don’t do that here.

But still. So what? How does that affect anyone else or cause “cultural separation from parents?”

An amended transcript with a different name isn’t going to be of much use to anyone unless it matches their other records anyway. The only people who ever look at a HS transcript are universities and employers. And they are going to want to see social security cards, drivers licenses, etc. So I don’t actually see the point. Anyone who is 18 (and most HS grads are) can get a legal name change and sex change in Virginia then go to the school and get the records officially changed. What is the point of a secondary transcript with an assumed name that doesn’t match other records? What use is it?
It's the accumulation of policies like this that prove the bent and agenda of those involved in public education. Also, it gives the lie to your claim that there is no difference between Edward wanting to be called Ed, and Timothy wanting to be called Sue. It's obvious that there is a difference.

EDUCATION
“In California and Virginia, transgender policies see school districts rebel”
https://thehill.com/homenews/education/ ... cts-rebel/
State-level policies on transgender students are fueling ideologically opposite rebellions at the district level
in Virginia and California.

Liberals in Virginia and conservatives in California have secured key wins on school boards that are allowing them to go against state leadership and enact what they believe are the proper policies regarding the gender identities of their pupils. .. ..

It’s SOP for libs, once overturning laws that may have existed everywhere-for all time, to immediately morph to indignant, self-righteous, pearl-clutching language, such as, “It’s law of the land!” “Follow the law, you traitor!”

No shortage of flamboyant dramatic language.

When, in reality, it’s NEW, UNTESTED law, the equivalent of EXPERIMENTS, future unknown.

In schools of human, godless law, language is nothing more than a trifling means to an end, twisting+stretching is encouraged+rewarded. It’s literally a “point of Pride.”

No moral compass to impede.
