Apparently I’m famous enough in Kingdom Christian circles to discuss and circulate rumors about. I’m not sure if I should be flattered or concerned.
Are you intentionally dodging Szdfan’s question?
I agree. Let’s not call people who have different ways of expressing ideas evil and try to instead listen to their legitimate concerns.Wade wrote:It is amazing how putting others down is so popular, it's like I've stepped back into the world here. I'm guilty of this at times but I really don't want to be in a place of promoting it. Let's grow more like Christ rather.
You need to go back and read more carefully. Szdfan worded his "question" as a statement saying there are rumours - it wasn't worded as a question but had a question mark at the end. I actually worded mine as question and I get blasted as making claims that Christian are evil... Wow... Just like the memes misrepresenting people to the extreme rather than listening and trying to effectively communicate - seems there is a common theme going on here...annkat wrote:Wade wrote:Do you dank kingdom people want people to give out personal information so it can feed your evil desires?annkat wrote:

Yikes. Evil desires? Really, Wade? That’s a hefty claim to call fellow seekers and followers of Jesus evil. I understand you don’t like memes and think they’re worldly but that’s taking it too far. You can dislike memes, deem them worthless, say whatever. But when you start claiming others have evil desires, you need to do some self reflection and ask yourself how much of this is overcompensating and lashing out solely because you want to be repulsed by anything worldly in order to further your own journey. Most people make memes to address pain in their lives, serious issues they’ve encountered in the church that they weren’t in a place to confront. Other memes challenge various theological stances and some real fruitful conversations come from them - more fruitful than many conversations here that are often veiled with a shade of annoyance and snide for one another. I’ve seen memes that address the emotion of God’s power and love for us. So please don’t take your limited exposure and make a sweeping claim.
In regards to Josh, he has made an image of himself as self righteous and perfect, whether intentional or not. So many people want to know if a man who is constantly condemning them and making them feel like they’re not enough is secretly harboring something that many of us would consider to be a major sin.
You asked if “you dank kingdom people” want info to “feed your evil desires.” How Szdfan phrases his question has no relation to how you phrased yours. My reading is fine. I’m confident I’m not the only one who would read that as an accusation of being evil and having evil desires. A better way of asking your question may have been, “Why do you want this information? What purpose will it be used for?” No accusation, no judgement of character. You can’t throw words like evil around and then play the victim and pretend that you’re simply misunderstood.Wade wrote:You need to go back and read more carefully. Maybe that does answer my question then...
Absolutely not. However, I still think we should be cautious about being quick to accuse brothers and sisters of evil intent when there is none there, especially when the same person is lamenting about bringing people down.Joy wrote:The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Does anyone here want to claim their heart is totally pure and they never have evil desires?
