Seattle’s (former?) Capitol Hill neighborhood

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

Fire and EMS will not respond without a police escort, because firemen and medics have been targets of violence. The cops did not respond or enter CHOP/CHAZ.

Now the people who declared themselves independent are complaining that government emergency services aren’t responding.

Does anyone still want to maintain that this is “peaceful”? I’ve been to plenty of peaceful protests (mostly left wing ones!). I have yet to be around anyone getting shot.
Sounds like "The Summer of Love" as the mayor there named it, may not be so loving
remember, the "Summer of Love" ended with Alatamont.

Looks like the jig is up. Mayor is telling them to get out. I guess the shootings were a bit too much.

Yes. and their D.C. counterpart is not getting The Welcome Wagon, either.

DC counterpart?

That is news to me and I get most of my news from DC.

Had not seen that. Doubt that even mayor Bowser would let that happen.

She’s promised to do it without force or using the police - I wish her the best.

Business. How is insurance responding? Insurance companies/lobbies have a lot of power.

I'd suggest she send a bill to the protestors to pay for the water, sewer, and electrical services provided by the city at least. Maybe even the lost tax revenue by the businesses they have shut down. With a warning these services will be shut down within a couple days upon default of payment. And then do it. Someone has to work to pay to maintain these services while these protestors even the "peaceful ones" deface, abuse, and take for granted the work of others they disrespect while being supported by them.

The right person would be joshuabgood to go do that. Lead by example instead of just words on MN making untrue claims about CA's.
Wade, if the suggestions in your last post fail, don’t forget your poster-boy, Joshuabgood! Might be time to send him.
