Who speaks for the black community?

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

How about whoever posts the most in this thread wins? They obviously speak for the black community.

How about we let them speak for themselves. And if they say they are experiencing racism, which is the vast vast majority, peradventure we consider that we might listen and learn from them. Many of them are bright, mature, brothers and sisters in Christ.

See the testimony I posted earlier by C Davis.

Sure but there are also mature well spoken blacks that are saying and have been saying a different message for many years. And many of them are brothers and sisters in Christ as well. And have experienced some pretty brutal treatment from professing Christians for what they stand for. What I am saying is you can not simply listen to the message you agree with and claim others are not listening because they do not agree any more than I can make that claim of you.

Of course not.

But I am saying that when 90+ percent of all blacks agree about something, that means something. And when we see things that they overwhelmingly believe, we should assume there's a good reason for that. And many of these are good brothers and sisters in Christ.

If you want to know which beliefs those are, that's what polls are for.

Josh wrote:The polls and surveys in question are about feelings, not about actual hard data about what actually happens. So which are we discussing in this thread?
Well, what is the topic of this thread? Is that a hard question? I think I've been clear and consistent. It's about hard data about feelings and experiences and beliefs that are widespread enough to be considered characteristic.

If anyone from the black community were speaking here, I'd be glad to listen to them.

Who doesn't speak for the black community is you (joshuabgood). You have your opinions, but you do not get to speak on behalf of 45 million people.

If one were to poll only the portion of the the black population who have dedicated their lives to Christ, would the results be significantly different from polls of the black population as a whole?

I wish you could dial back on the vehemence, Josh. Is it really necessary to keep on beating this horse?

If joshgood keeps making new threads every few days on his hobby horse topic, yes, sometimes I will respond. He has shown no interest in having a private dialogue, and instead prefers to litigate this in public, complete with a new poll where we're supposed to tick boxes stating how racist we are. It just never ends.

I think it's appropriate to speak out against this, although I have considered that the best debate tactic would be to just let joshgood keep posting, not bother responding to him, and letting him irritate virtually everyone else reading this forum.

Your interpretation of my writing and work is truly baffling to me. I am simply interested in how members of this forum respond to the questions.

If you dont want to participate...please feel free not to.
