Bankruptcy: Boy Scouts of America

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

According to psychiatric research it’s a mix. Some are certainly manipulated into the behaviors by other pedophiles and pederasts. Some seem to be hardwired from the start; yet when their past is examined under a microscope it is found that they too were abused.

It was once thought to be a curable condition. Since 1997-98 it has been acknowledged by both the professions and the criminals themselves that nothing has helped or worked to stop the “urges”. I strongly suspect that part of the problem is easy access to porn. Repetitive exposure and fantasies also hardwire the brain.

The fact that professionals once felt that they could cure it was part of the problem in Catholic circles: professionals would advise Bishops to put the priest into treatment and transfer him. Of course we know that outcome. We now turn all accusations over to LEOs to determine whether the accusations are true. The person is removed from all ministries until a determination is made. Also: We have now (finally) come up with a canonical procedural for removing Bishops/Cardinals who are determined to have engaged in these criminal acts.

It is my hope that there will no longer be coverups and free rides to these criminals. That all children and seminarians will be protected. That problem people will be weeded out and isolated from potential victims. Hopefully others can learn from the RCCs tragic experiences.

To the Anabaptists I would advise the following based upon the horrific experiences the RCC has had to deal with (warning-graphic treatment mentioned below):
->If a child or young person says they’ve been abused, separate them from the accused immediately and turn the investigation over to law enforcement. LEOs have the resources and would be more objective than an internal investigation.

->If a counselor says that the behaviors can be cured then find another counselor. It’s now widely acknowledged in psychology/psychiatry professions that pedophilia/pederasty is incurable. Some of those have even volunteered for complete castration surgery to get their condition under control. Of note it has now been discovered that some still have fantasies and still try to victimize even after the surgery.

->All are called to repent but once having repented, this does not mean they are cured. They still need to be removed from situations where there are potential victims.

Let’s be vigilant in whatever organizations we find ourselves for the sake of souls.

Epilogue: sorry forgot to include this.

The subjective experience is described very similarly to what homosexuals describe. There is a likely genetic component to homosexuality, so my guess is that there is also a genetic component here.
The most recent research from Johns-Hopkins, conducted by a lesbian researcher strongly supports the premise that homosexuality is not a genetic condition. It is a learned behavior.

:?: If a counselor says that the behaviors can be cured then find another counselor.

Picking out these items:
To begin, i wonder about the “incurable” part?
Laws have been crafted to criminalize any efforts to help homosexuals/others turn away from (sin).
But, reports of (esp men) who have successfully rebuked sin are not hard to find.

This popular notion that efforts to change should be criminalized is extreme.

Pedophiles, not so!
i agree, they must be removed from access to known and potential victims.

Next, about those post-castration recurring fantasies.
Rape and sexual abuse have been revealed to be about power+control, not sex.
Sex is their weapon of choice.

If this is true that castration does not eliminate fantasies, i believe this supports the idea that psych studies are correct, the motivator is POWER, not sex. Certainly not love!

i suspect, those within the normal range of brain functioning “default” into thinking sexual acts are about sex, possibly lust, infatuation, or even love. But, over decades as i’ve read about it, i believe it really is about power. And separate from normal desires and behaviors.

When i was still a teen, the conflation of rape+sex abuse as forms of acts of love was common.
or, i sure wouldn’t have heard about it.

By the 1970’s, that thinking was seriously changing.
That, along with blaming the victims - which was WIDESPREAD. “She made me do it.” and so much more. EVEN IN THE CASE OF CHILDREN. (Example, 2019, JMast tried it.)

Parents often believed the offenders, even punishing their children for false accusations, shaming the family, etc. :(

The most successful serial offenders make themselves attractive, trustworthy, important to daily life. They are manipulative. Being scary, causing pain, does not serve their end goal: access to your children. True for neighbors, pastors, priests, teachers, scout leaders.

i want to add to “extreme” - Popular AND politicized notions:

How can it not be obviously extreme to criminalize any effort to help willing persons turn away from homosexuality - when, in reverse, all people, and all children, are ENCOURAGED+SUPPORTED to turn away from heterosexuality to homosexuality??

gender-fluid? only as long as the fluid river flows in one direction!

Yep. These people believe you can change your sex, but you sure can’t ever do anything to try to stop having deviant attractions.

Yes the whole thing has become extremely confusing. It is small wonder that many in the homosexual community dislike the trans community. They spent years telling us they had no choice in the matter due to the fact they were born that way and then along come a group of people that yell discrimination if you deny them the right to choose to be anything they want to be.

The only conclusion i can come to, because the holes in reasoning are so big, getting bigger,

these activists must live in an air-tight echo chamber of their own design,
THEN, they picked up law degrees, learned how to organize, craft law, etc., esp how to exploit existing legal language (civil rights language) to cover their specific goals,
THEN exploited (civil rights language) regarding MINORITY RULE .. ..

voila’! out of that human reasoning pea soup, here we are. :-|

in my view, it boils down to worship of self as god. :-|
that’s just never going to work out.

Remember these people think they’re doing the right thing.

I used to be one of them and really thought the philosophy myself and my friends had was the right, moral way.

The person who showed me the light was a person who told me drunkenness is wrong. We can win these people if we don’t keep our light under a bushel.

Arguing/debating the specifics won’t win any souls. Seeing someone’s actual spiritual need will.

I agree and it is the conclusion I have come to as well. I asked the question here because I am always curious to know how other Christian people look at these things. But I generally never get into this with someone I would just meet on the street. While winning a debate with them may be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel, unless I have actually pointed them to Christ, I have really done nothing.
