i live in the country, i would enjoy (local) city water which has always had a good reputation, we have a deep aquifer, but my well water is rusty/iron, or it goes through the water softener.

neither is appetizing to me, so, i keep several gallons of bottled water, $.80/gal for “purified,” which may be no different than their “spring drinking water.” i use it for drinking, cooking, and i rinse my hair with it after shampooing, softened well water doesn’t rinse well. it always feel soapy.

if i had a family, i’m not sure what we’d do. for myself, it doesn’t seem costly.

i collect rain water for plants, esp house plants, because the rust/iron isn’t great on plants.
lake water for blueberries.

my daughter is having great results with aquarium water for houseplants.

i’ve just read, distilled water might be good for houseplants. i’m trying it.
if so, fertilizer is needed.

i guess water is a big deal in my life. :)

The 2 big water scandals i recall were in FLINT MICHIGAN, and, less publicized, Marine Camp LeJeune water contamination, that went on for decades in South Carolina:

“Camp Lejeune water contamination health issues”

Personally, i think of the Marine camp travesty as comparable to Agent Orange.

Reuters / “New coronavirus spreads more like flu than SARS: Chinese study“
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-chin ... e=facebook
.. Scientists in China who studied nose and throat swabs from 18 patients infected with the new coronavirus say it behaves much more like influenza than other closely related viruses, suggesting it may spread even more easily than previously believed.

In at least in one case, the virus was present even though the patient had no symptoms, confirming concerns that asymptomatic patients could also spread the disease.

Although preliminary, the findings published on Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, offer new evidence that this novel coronavirus, which has killed more than 2,000 people mostly in China, is not like its closely-related coronavirus cousins.

“If confirmed, this is very important,” said Dr. Gregory Poland, a virologist and vaccine researcher with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, who was not involved with the study.

Unlike Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which causes infections deep in the lower respiratory tract that can result in pneumonia, COVID-19 appears to inhabit both the upper and lower respiratory tracts. That would make it not only capable of causing severe pneumonia, but of spreading easily like flu or the common cold. .. ..
Reports are mixed.
Thankfully, some reports say that not all people have bad symptoms. That’s hopeful.
Another report said the virus can repeat, symptoms would be worse in a second episode. Not good.

So far, there are daily ups+downs in reporting. :-|

This surprises you. I wonder if he is advocating drinking what general Jack did to prevent his “essence “ from being poisoned by the communists?

There was a disease outbreak from Milwaukee's water system in the 1990s:

Quite appropriate! It's a film that many pacifists appreciated for its message.

The internet is trying to infect me with Coronavirus. I keep getting emails for "Hot Chinese Women." I used to think this was just inappropriate. Now I think it is really unhealthy.

Taking the fluoridation out will not prevent cryptosporidium. A very very fine, like ceramic filter will.

Right, I did not mean to imply fluoride had a relation to the disease pathogen being in the water.
