Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

So Mennonets a search dog? :)

To be clear, I think it is completely unreasonable and unrealistic to expect people not to discuss it at all on here. I'm personally not sure where that line is though between reality and sensitivity, so I guess for myself that means not posting update details that are email, since I supposed that is what prompted the request.

My problem is if you start deleting threads, where does it stop? Some really important information has come out in posts that some would LOVE to see deleted. If that starts, where does it stop? I am sure some toes are smarting from some of the CAM threads. Now what if they were taken down?

If there is anything we have learned here, sometimes the truth is inconvenient.

Yes. I don’t know. Happy to leave that to the moderators.

Who needs a "Where is Sasha Krause?" thread when we have a "Where is the Sasha Krause thread?" thread?

Having said that, I've moved this thread from Anabaptist Theology and Practice (!) to the more appropriate Other category. Which will undoubtedly prompt a "Where is the 'Where is the Sasha Krause thread?' " thread.

Sometimes law enforcement does not want some things going public as it can hinder the investigation. I think we should be sensitive to and praying for the situation rather than acting like we have a right to all the latest information. Are we curious and want to know what is going on? Certainly!!! But what I know or don't know will not speed up the outcome of the investigation.

FYI - They are contacting other sources and sites, it is not just here. Quoting someone from Farmington on Facebook below:
The investigation is requesting that less be shared on social media in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. I was reached out to specifically to tone it down. So I won't be sharing any more.

I realize that may be difficult for many people who do genuinely care, but if the authorities feel that is in Sacha's best interest, I will certainly comply. I have every confidence that they know what they're doing and are doing it well.

Please keep praying of course.

Signing out.

Robert wrote:I came across the request about 2 AM last night. I did not have time to really dig into it. I just archived the thread until we (Mods) had the time to sort it out. I just erred on the side of safety until we got more information. I can move the thread back once we get more details.

I don't usually react the requests for threads to be gone, but a missing person is a different issue and would rather be safe than sorry. I am not interested in the fact that this information may be out there other places. I can not do anything about that, but if it helps the family right now, I am happy to do what little we can here.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

UPDATE Missing Person: 27-Year-Old, Shasha Marie Krause of Farmington, New Mexico

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office is respectfully requesting that the only information shared comes directly from our social media pages or media releases. Information spreads quickly and we are asking that any information not confirmed by our office to not be shared.

What we know: At approximately 3am on January 19, 2020, San Juan County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Lamp & Light Publishers on Road 5577 in Farmington, NM in reference to a missing person. 27-year-old, Sasha Marie Krause was last seen leaving her residence on January 18, 2020 around 8pm and never returned. Sasha’s vehicle was located parked nearby a church in the area where she resides. Resources that Sasha would normally take with her, if she willingly left her residence, were left behind. Detectives with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office are actively searching for Sasha and working closely with her relatives, a hired search and rescue team and members of the Mennonite community to locate her. Yesterday evening, a search and rescue team from out of state hired by the Krause family arrived in Farmington, NM. The search and rescue team are made up of trained individuals and a tracking dog. Today, numerous Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives and the search and rescue team did a thorough search of the area surrounding the Mennonite community. The search is ongoing, and we are investigating every possible scenario. We will continue to be as transparent as we can without hindering the investigation.

Please continue to follow the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office social media sites for accurate and updated information. If you have seen Sasha or have any information regarding her disappearance, please contact dispatch at 505-334-6622 and ask to speak to Detective Strang right away.
