Hymn: Saviour Again

Post by RZehr »

Anyone know this song? Number 342 in the Life Songs.
First line is: Saviour, again to Thy dear name we raise

I have the words in the song book but no tune. I’m also curious how widespread this song is known in our churches.

Also, does this song share a tune with any other hymns?

Edit: This is the same tune as “Lead Us O Father, In Thy Paths Of Peace”.

Here is a Lutheran version:

But I find in my AC church there are hymns with the same words as in the Lutheran hymnal but different melodies.

Very familiar song. And yes, I am used to singing it to the same tune as "Lead Us O Father."

It is the song in the "Familiar Hymns" section of the Life Songs with which I am least familiar. Despite it being in both of our hymnals (with notes), I would be met with blank stares if I tried to lead it.

That’s where I stumbled upon it. In the Familiar Hymns section of the Life Songs. I realized that was the one I was not familiar with, and I liked the words.
