Meadow Springs? Wow. I didn't think Easternish people would fellowship with Old Orders. For anyone wondering, Meadow Springs is a conservative split off Weaverland, mainly over the Internet and would be more conservative generally.

Ken, Does Eastern and Appalachian exchange pulpits and fellowship together? Are there whole congregations that went with Appalachian or is a lot of scattered families from different congregations?

You'd lower yourself to drive a red car??
The poll says "owning" rather than "driving" -- in some cultures, that makes a difference.

Other signs of liberalization:
  • Serving in the military or police force
    Swearing oaths
    Divorcing
    Living in a decked-out home
    Amassing significant wealth
    Wearing or driving luxury/status brands
    Instigating a personal lawsuit
    Voting in national elections
Wearing jewelry and other (male/female) decorative adornment
Pouring money into collector cars, guns, figurines, etc.
    Wielding political power

I actually had a few of them on my list but the poll is limited to 10 choices. I do agree with some of your list, and could debate one or two.

Exchange pulpits - no, not at this time.
Fellowship together - there is visiting back and forth but no formal interchange that I am aware of.
Mostly scattered families from different congregations that went with Appalachian.

Your statement assumes we all see liberal as bad or undesirable.

If Christ were alive today, he'd have some heavier issues to preach against than red cars and tractor pulls.
Jesus is alive today. Where do we, His Body, discern His guidance in these areas?

My tendency is to start with my cultural background, probably not where Jesus starts.

There is a Mennonite man who dresses very conservatively; black hat, black car, etc. He believes that the way you know if God is blessing you is if you have material blessings and things are going well for you. He says God has abundantly blessed him with money. I thought that was called the prosperity gospel.

So is he conservative or liberal? The two are often mixed in the same person. I think many of these questions are answered in knowing which kingdom we are a part of and then deciding if the particular practice promotes His kingdom.
