Frequently in clinical medicine, a site like this pops up, asking for information, normally after a high profile situation. While I don’t know for sure, we suspect the ones we see are from lawyers mining for gold.

Liability lawyers are creepier than any Mennonite I know.

If there is the potential for money, you will see the lawyers circling.

How many lawyers looking for victims would write stuff like this?

"Truth does not care about our feelings. We encourage you to pray for guidance in this issue."

"We need any and all pictures, videos, audio, documents, etc. that may identify, implicate, or absolve Jeriah Mast or potential cooperators including allegations for or against Christian Aid Ministries." (If this were a lawyer looking for victims the word absolve seems like an odd choice. Unless of course it were a lawyer looking to defend Jeriah, CAM or someone else who knew about the abuse for awhile).

"This small excerpt is a small part of a lengthy, rambling post followed by still more posts." (As I said in an earlier post this is in reference to Trudy Metzger's first blog post. Again this doesn't sound like a lawyer looking for victims).

All kinds of language is used to bait the naive into becoming a client to sign onto an affidavit. Most of us with years under our feet have seen similar in other situations.

Do the sites you see usually contain any information about the lawyer or law firm that created them?

Okay, I got into that site, First impressions, having seen this before.... its the family, hands down. This like them trying to "fight back" against the media by acting all humble like they want the "real truth."

Do you think they just want to know what's out there, in terms of evidence, before facing it in court?

I've seen this before where the parents want "the truth" when a child goes wayward. People give info, pitch ideas and in one case raised money. As soon as the family discovers the ugly reality of how deep their child was in sin, the site suddenly gets taken down and the money disappears. A clever cover story is fabricated that reads like a plot to a horror movie.

Grace knows what I'm talking about. Happened about 18 months ago.

So this is all complete speculation, but if that's the case, it would tell me a whole lot about the depth of "repentance" involved here.
