Thanks for the link. I used to work in the van conversion business back in the 80's. This feels natural to me along with some of the woodworking I have been doing of late too.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

Sounds like a good plan. I've asked around and people tell me the Expeditions can have "problems". When you convert the van you can get ideas from the Class B camper vans. Some take two folding sofas and put them opposite each other for passengers (with seatbelts attached) then at night they can fold down into one king sized bed or stay in place for two twins.

You can get the sofas online just look for RV folding sofas (or similar) as your search term. Leisure Travel Vans website can give you some ideas for a DIY conversion.
I know someone who bought a wrecked/damaged travel trailer, and used the RV components to convert a minibus into an RV. I bought my motorhome from copart.com, which is a good place to buy a parts unit. It would likely be a lot cheaper than buying a lot of new parts to convert a van.

That's even better: a project. Maybe the boys can help. I agree with Mike, you can find some used RV furniture and parts at different places. Looks as though Mike has given you a reliable source.

Looks like a standard articulated bus with the driver's seat at the left end in the picture. The right half is basically a trailer. Backing up might be a little tricky, but any farmer should be able to handle that.

On a typical city street or highway? With 180 turns ? I'm thinking that where a semi can go, perhaps. Not in some of the driving environments where many motorhomes go. Definitely not most campgrounds. The length is the problem; even 40' motorhomes with no "joint" have difficulty in those conditions.

Most campgrounds I've been in have the RVer unhitch any towed vehicle before entering the campsite area because of the issues with length. It doesn't look like it would be convenient to unhitch this one.

Sure, there are places it wouldn't be practical to go. But who needs a campground with that rig? Just park at any bus stop. But make sure the destination sign says "out of service" or you'll have passengers trying to board in the middle of the night.

In Australia we called these a "bend-a-bus", and it was a common sight to see them go "four-wheeling" over the little island in the middle of roundabouts.
