Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
Please pray for me today. I can’t give details, but pray for wisdom from above for a difficult day, and safety as we travel.
I’m up too early worrying through the problems of the day, but then also driving home tonight (15 hrs) with a nearly equally weary co-driver.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
Thank you.
We made it safely home about an hour ago. We stopped numerous times for ice and coffee and switching drivers etc which made it about 16.5 hrs, but God was faithful and we are safely home.
My day started before 4:30 yesterday morning and we hit the road for home about 6:30 last night. I couldn’t have done it by myself!

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
Here is a news story about a personal friend of ours, a young man who came from our congregation.

This has been over two months now. She was first considered a runaway, now they're not so sure.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
i’d forgotten this thread started as a poll.
i’ve become accustomed to allowing for an unreliable memory.
i don’t like it. but, i must allow for it.
i continue to miss having a designated category for prayers and testimonies,
the current discussion of a young woman’s life abruptly ended is, at best, uncomfortable.
i liked how MD’s designated category was kept for prayers, not debate.
who would want their end of life debated in “Current Events?!”
(i did not know of her.)

my dear inlaws had some important insights on how they HOPED they would be remembered.
we were young, with babies. death was not much on our minds.
but they had “thought it through.” they wanted us to know, without confusion! -
being born in 1908 and 1916, they’d experienced and survived many hard challenges.
they had to bury their firstborn at age 2. they never “got over” the shock and pain.
their faith was of bedrock importance to both of them.
all-told, they acquired good earthly achievements in education, work, family, church.
they credited God for all.
but, in sum, they were resolute.
what they longed to be remembered for was their devotion to Jesus Christ, their faith.
nothing else mattered near so much, nothing could compare.
they passed, fil in 1996, then mil in 2006.
i am happy to say, they are most remembered for their abiding faith.

Re: Prayer Requests & Personal Testimonies
I have a prayer request, if anyone keeps a prayer journal and would please add my Mom Bonnie-
My Mom was just told she has stomach cancer.
She does know the Lord and is a family prayer warrior (she doesn't call herself that, but she is)
She will be 82 in June.
Cancer does not run in our family, this was a shock to us all-
We need prayer to know what path to take, please- stomach cancer sounds like a very very unpleasant illness to address-
As you know I'm not a fan of conventional chemo, radiation- I've been to too many funerals or have known of others who passed who had the conventional treatments- I don't put a lot of trust in this- but I may be the only one in the family who would encourage alternative treatment- she is my Mom- she's not afraid of death but seems to be worried about the process of addressing this type of cancer.
Please lift up my Mom Bonnie, in prayer as well as us as a family together seeking direction.
Thank you and God bless!
