Re: Campground Ramblings
We have doctor appointments today, the usual fuss and bother. I'm not looking forward to having to eat fast food so my wife is making us chicken salad sandwiches to take along. Right now I'm thinking Ragpicker's brisket might be good on some crusty bread with mayo and horseradish.

Re: Campground Ramblings
The campground is full every weekend now and nearly full throughout the week. Summer "vacays" as the younger people are calling it these days.
There is a new fad among some campers: they bring their drones and fly them over other campsites and around the area. It bothers the campers who come to get away from all of that and want to be in the quiet of nature. The campground manager has had to speak to several drone owners already and has put up a sign forbidding the use of drones in the campground airspace itself.
Ten years ago it was people who ran their loud generators all night. Now its drones. Life is never dull in a campground.

Time to buy a small piece of land to park your RV on permanently?MaxPC wrote:The campground is full every weekend now and nearly full throughout the week. Summer "vacays" as the younger people are calling it these days.

It's tempting but there are a few trips I'd like to make firstgcdonner wrote:Time to buy a small piece of land to park your RV on permanently?MaxPC wrote:The campground is full every weekend now and nearly full throughout the week. Summer "vacays" as the younger people are calling it these days.

No reason to postpone your trips, since you will still be an RVer, just with your own lot and not someone else's.MaxPC wrote:It's tempting but there are a few trips I'd like to make firstgcdonner wrote:Time to buy a small piece of land to park your RV on permanently?MaxPC wrote:The campground is full every weekend now and nearly full throughout the week. Re: Campground Ramblings
I wish it were that simple. I could just park it on the farm we sold to our children but then we would have to put in a full hook-up station (electric port; water port; septic = BIG BUCKS). Right now with our senior discounts we can camp pretty cheaply. It's the price of gasoline that limits our wanderings and those prices aren't too great right now, even in Oklahoma where it's usually cheaper than other places. Every year the prices tend to drop around October though and hopefully will do so again this year.gcdonner wrote:No reason to postpone your trips, since you will still be an RVer, just with your own lot and not someone else's.MaxPC wrote:It's tempting but there are a few trips I'd like to make firstgcdonner wrote: Time to buy a small piece of land to park your RV on permanently? At least I don't have to have a turbo-charged wheelchair yet.
By the way, one of the traveling apps we use is Gas Buddy. It shows a comparison of gas prices of the various stations in any given area. I have to say those apps are handy.

Re: Campground Ramblings
could you tie-in to the existing septic at the farm?
use a composting toilet in the RV?
add a small addition to the main house for bath+laundry close to the RV?
you’ve probably thot of all these ideas+more.
