One of these days when I get my thoughts together, I'm going to start a thread on the history of Liberalism, from the Humanism that translated the Bible from original into modern language to the radical social reformers called Anabaptists to the 19th century theologians who gave us both higher criticism of the scriptures and the template for Evangelicalism.

I suppose I could agree Jerome was a liberal. Have a hard time agreeing the first missionaries to the Goths were.

I would you advise you to just scratch the surface of the history of Bible translation a little deeper. What you find may surprise you, but it will certainly be an education in liberalism.
