I am aware of brokers who sell lists of plain people to advertise to. Maybe they purchased one of those lists.seinetsodumm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 11:03 am Thanks for y'all's information. I checked back in with my relatives, one couldn't recall and the other did not receive a letter.
I'm still baffled by how this mailing list was created. I suppose some things may never be understood.

In the case of the last book "I" received (at my father-in-law's house, which we now own), the letter was on the back of the address cover sheet. So maybe they didn't look at the back. (It was an 8 1/2 x 11 full sheet, folded to half size. So if the recipient doesn't unfold it, they will not see the letter on the back.)seinetsodumm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 11:03 am Thanks for y'all's information. Makes sense. Prolly saves on printing costs.Neto wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 12:17 pm In the case of the last book "I" received (at my father-in-law's house, which we now own), the letter was on the back of the address cover sheet. I always look at the back of things I receive in the mail, and if the reverse side is clear, I save it for scratch paper. I copy the sodoko out of the Holmes County Bargain Hunter (a free weekly paper), typing it into a spread sheet I created, then printing it. That way my wife gets the original newspaper copy, and I have my own copy (and can reprint it if I mess up). I have copies of lots of sodoko puzzles, going back to when we used to buy each Sunday's local newspaper out of a box at up at the grocery store. After they took away those boxes, and only sold the newspaper in some local stores, I quit buying them, because someone else has to work on Sundays in order for them to sell them. I checked - the oldest one I copied that way is from in March of 2006.seinetsodumm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 6:49 pmMakes sense.
